 I don't see the rants as a problem.  I see people that become upset at someones option to rant a problem.  Forums are full of rants and raves with the majority of both being opinions.  

People like you are upset because this darkfall forum seems to contain more rants than raves.    Thats life...deal with it and move on.

Not EVERYONE likes it..........just about 95% of the people who have played it.

I really don't understand why anyone cares if you like or dislike the game. All that matters is your own personal opinion. If you like it then cool play it and be happy if you don't then well don't.

Good for what it is, it's greatest strength is that it has potential. Clearly not release ready so you have to be willing to pay for a beta product. Key features are missing and/or not functioning as intended. Of course there is server instability, it's a new launch... the only MMOs that launched smoothly in that respect were AoC and WAR and they were smooth because they over estimated demand and had to shut down servers shortly after launch.

Absolutely not a WoW killer. People happy in WoW will HATE Darkfall just as people happy in Darkfall generally hate WoW. If you didn't like the core idea of Shadowbane you won't like Darkfall. The bread and butter is clan vs clan politics and open PvP. The bread and butter of WoW is chasing the next carrot and I guess battle grounds if doing the same thing over and over and over for no reason interests you.

Darkall is either going to make it or flop in the next year. Unless things improve significantly it will flop, on the other hand if they do improve it has the potential to be an excellent game. Whether it goes the direction of a more mainstream EVE or Shadowbane remains to be seen. The game has improved during the last few months of beta and month or so of release, but there's a ton left to do including fundamentally changing several core mechanics. Mounted combat, sieging system, crafting, magic, naked zerging - they all need tweaks or complete rewrites.

Exactly.  A lot of those people probably don't even have copies of the game.  They really need to change the Darkfall forums to subscription based because of the high number of trolls out their that want to see the game destroyed.  Everyone I know loves the game.  Everyone I know also thinks this is one of the best games ever made.  The math isn't working out right.

Anyways, I've never been a fan of citing those polls.  Citing the polls from beta was alright, since everyone polled had played the game.  But on the official DF boards, everyone who hasn't even played yet can vote.  If they are bored out of their minds just WAITING for the game, I can see them voting bored of playing it just for the hell of it.  If people see a poll, it's likely that they are going to vote.

yep. reading this or even the official boards paints a totally different picture of the game compared to in-game chat & vent.

i think it's just a bunch of ppl forum qqing/warrioring cause they can't get into the game yet.

Oh okay. So when a Poll before launch said that 90% of Beta testers would buy/play the game at launch, that was a valid poll? But this one isn't because the game is already released, whereas the pre-launch Poll was based strictly off of the features list? Unless all those people were really in Beta. Hah. If you say that, then you have to say that everyone who voted on this poll has the game and gave it a fair shot.

That 90% poll was legit, since it was private beta forums, and therefore all who voted actualy had played the game

This poll that we are talking about is the general forum that everyone (read: haters & trolls) have access to, draw your own logical conclusions.

I hope they make the forums accesible for paying customers only, too many people have an itch with this game, and will readily make hundreds of aliases to hate on it (happened on mmorpg forums so many times everyone knows it)

and why isit so hard to stop writing this bullshit over and over again?

people, go and try it out yourself then make a decition either you like or not , whats the use of this?
