Well its the end of this week and for the past 3 days darkfall is no longer the most hit game on mmorpg.com. either all the fourm fall fans finally migrated to their froums or people have started to lose interest of what was prob the most intance battles seen on mmorpg.com fourm history of trolls and fanboys. Either way the forums of this game did keep me busy on my boring work days... guess now it wont be as entertaining as before :( Watching Fanbois drop their soap in a prison full of desperate men. |

The game is still not really available to the general public. There are still billing issues and stability issues when trying to order. There are problems within the game as far as macroing and cheating go. There are other problems which I will not get into because they were discussed over and over again. However, some of the fanbois love it, so at least they are happy.

I predict that there is gonna be a big battle again in 3-6 months from now where the remnants of the fanbois will have to face a new and more powerfull breed of flame resistant trolls that will emerge from the shattered promises of their former company (Aventurine) it is during then when the last chapter of the Forum Wars shall be written in blood , but on who's blood.....................? Iiii-iiiiiit's.... me!!! *Hooray* |

DOnt think there is much else to hash out. I think also people are losing interest and the ones that got in are playing or moved to MO or Earthrise. The MO forums have been getting rather busy lately. |

Soon, MO will be full of the same tripe as DF. Poor buggers at Mo wont even know what hit em. Oh well. At least SV isnt a PR nightmare like DF is. |

FFA PvP games tend to attract a certain type of gamers. I like to lovingly reffer to them as douchebags. They are sort of similar to your typical frat boys since they both seem to have a strange fascination with tea bags.

I have often said that FFA PvP brings out the best and the worst in people... unfortunately, those that it brings out the worst in, tend to ruin the games for the rest of us. |

Nah it wont be the same because MO devs frequently communicate with the community, MO hasnt been in development for 10 years with multiple release dates and beta promises, MO isnt being donned as vaporware. DF had it rough. The game sure is a breath of fresh air though. Im enjoying it. Also looking forward to MO and ER though. playing: darkfall |

FFA PvP games are a true RPG fan's dream come true. After all, it's a world with consequences and danger. Then you have the asshats who are only there to "lol pwn" newbs and go out of their way to ruin another player's day. If you read most of the impressions from the current batch of beta testers...err I mean players, you will notice one trend. They all talk about PvP. While I'm a huge fan of PvP and enjoy the hell out of it, for a game to be a true RPG, there has to be a lot more. Where is the adventure? Surely it isn't "lol we pwnt 12 newbs @ teh orc newb zone and looted some banded armor." This game is becoming Planetside fast. The only difference is that Planetside actually had meaningful PvP. There was a reason to take over and hold those installations, where as in this game it's PvP for the sake of PvP. While that approach works well in Team Fortress 2, in an RPG game, it's a travesty to the genre.

Why can't 70% of this forum's population spell? I swear, every other post I read is loaded with very simple spelling errors. |

I see this game more like shadowbane, in terms of PvP. Seigable cities (which is what SB started out with) with the possiblity of adding in things like resource mines that you need to control and such to make certain types of gear. IF it turns out like SB, this the purpose of the PvP becomes land control and politics, which can be a fun game to play. But in the end, the griefers will begin killing off the new players which will leave them frustrated and quiting as it won't be fun and then they will then begin to not fill the attrition of those who are leaving and then you are left with an empty world to play in where PvP is hard to find and thus they begin to leave. How fast this happens varies, but I believe it will happen at some point to DFO. |

I love how everyone says MO>DF when they are essentially the same game expect: MO's character creation system isn't completely free: you can't learn everything and eventually build a class which leads people to easy cookie cutting builds, and you can have 6 characters per server that all share a special pool of what I like to call family points (your account has a point poll that can unlock different skills for any character) and MO won't have siegeing due to the limitations of the UT3 engine. I wouldn't be surprised if the world is actually zones like AoC: you can have a seamless world and still have different zones without loading screens. Doesn't mean the game is bad, but it does change the appeal. Why? Well with out sieging or guild cities that can be detoryed, or competeing for land, the development of a political meta game is impossible. Sure you can have a GvG ladder system, but thats not the same thing. Other than that combat mechanics are essentially the same. Load skill and LMB click, the only difference is being able to hold down LMB to time attacks a little better. No AoC like combos or choosing which direction you sing (I'll admit I could be wrong on this one). I'll probably buy it when it released just like I hope to eventually get DF. EarthRise seems like a Scfi/SWGpreC(F)U wet dream; however, if its auto attack I'll probably won't play it.

You can't have everyone be the same be the archer mage melee jack of all trades type in this game because skills degrade over time post 50 skill up.... If you want to be a jack of all trades in DF you better have no life or be happy with magic missle heal and sword swing and bow fire (no skills mind you) ...

Your game has whole guilds AFK macroing in their cities, do you honestly expect skills degrading actually affect anyone?
