I personaly have never seen a screenshot or video with more than 20-25 people in it at once, so until you can even prove by way of a video that it's stable with 200 people in one place fighting, no one here believes you.

If in a radius of 20 meter can be 40-50  people then in a radius up to 100+ meter can hold 200 Battle participants..

Surely it's not hard to conceive that at some point someone had a view of more than 25 or so at a time...? If there were 200 people there, it should have been easy to do.

Archers should not be inside the main fighting  they should at best snipe from a distance and be protected by players infront of them. Its this combination of players  in different postions. This is comparable in EVE with smaller ships protecting larger ones and a whole host of support actions.

What you describe makes it sound like your all in planes dogfighting or Unreal Tournament play. This is not a good realtime battle dynamic and not boding well for strategic gameplay.

Given that Lord Tasos has seen Mount and Blade (in which AI managed to achieve a more realistic, fun and strategic series of actions) I have to wonder if this game play mechnic was choosen to dumb down the game and allow people to be some kind of fantasy John Mc Claine with Benny Hill side trappings ??

Also I did not count 200 in that screenshot. Were there more behind ?

The video is pretty much what everyone in the battle is doing but on a large scale. Its not terribly intelligent.. its run round and whack the others basically. Like kids in a garden with sticks.  Where the frack is the formation figting ? Its frakked I tell you... 

AV should have released this game over two years ago AFTER focussing on the JUST the combat. Do an incremental development rather than work on everything but provide little of quality. Other indie developers take note... Rome was not built in a day ... large MMO don't get all the features they want in.. dont try that.. dont bullshit us with long lists and protracted NDAs.

Just work on the core of your game rather than pretending everything is fantastic and moving onto adding the next mediocre imlemented thing.

They made the claim of 200 people, then posted screenshots showing no more than about 25 at a time.

The visuals do not support the claim... not even close.

And... really... why so defensive that people are asking for screenshots showing such a mob of players? I mean, if it's *true* and these things are happening, then one would be only too happy to show it off, no?

For example... I took that screenshot (among others) from Lineage 2 because I thought it was pretty awesome that we had gathered that many people, from different clans/allies in defense of a castle and wanted to capture the moment. However, if someone ever told me "BS... there were not over 200 people there", and I couldn't show them a screenshot of it, all I have is my word that it happened. I could not reasonably expect them to believe it simply because I said so. Unlike these forums, however, I wouldn't get defensive and call them a "troll" for daring to question it.

This situation is no different.

So... no, their being there and saying so is not proof.

I keep seeing you post about bigger and bigger battles, but the pictures do not support what you are saying. Each picture you posted had at most 40 people in them.... That might be one side, but still only 1/5 of the combatants you claim were there on one screen.

I've been reading about DF for atleast 2years. I'm into Graphix. I think it looks a w f u l. That having been said, I think the rule set seems really cool, and I'm a care bear mmo'er.

Anyway, to quote a movie i don't even really like, "show me the money". Everything I've seen, graphically, is no good. Let's see some gameplay/epic what have you.

It's just sad and indictive of a disturbed individual when they have to throw around blanket statements of "fanyboy" when ever someone expresses logic or fails to provide an unintelligent rant. 

Being that I've played quite a few games where several hundred players were often engaged in a single skirkmish over a period of a few hours I'm quite aware that 25 people captured on a screen shot does not mean such events are lies. As a matter of fact, I've experianced many situations where it was quite impossible to catch everyone on the screen in a single attempt. Hell, most games have difficulty getting 50 to fit on the screen for a planned event let along 200 for a PvP battle!

This being said, I've not played Darkfall nor will I any time soon as every MMO that's been released has had numerous issues which have caused disruptions in the game for players on day 1.  Calling me a fanboy proves your idiocy.

Kasmos is lying..!   We have all called him out and he hasn't provided any proof.  Whats odd is that if there was actuallly such an "epic battle", more people involved would've snapped off a few screenshots aswell. Kasmos was juts happy to get 25 people in an area and since he's never seen that many in battle, if "felt" like 200 to him.  Yet, as i already posted, I showed 70 people in a DAOC screenshot, that was 7 yeas old.

In Darkfall's beta I was in a 30vs 20 and it was a slide show..  Aventurine has a long way to go before their engine can support large scale sieges..!
