I have never seen a game that has generated such hype, passion, and psychotic episodes as Darkfall.  Just browsing this forum for me is quality entertainment.  See, here's what makes this game intriguing.

1)  The haters - People who have never even played the game yet think they know how terrible it is.

2)  The fanbois - Same as any other game.

3)  Limited availability - Driving people to insanity.  They want to play the game so bad, but when they can't play it they bash the hell out of it.  Pure tactical marketing genius.

4) "Worst Launch Eva" - I remember hours long queues in wow, servers down for days, and two minute long loot lag. Yet a 12 hour delay with Darkfall and the sky is falling. What a bunch of dumbasses.

5)  Positive reviews - Every negative review I've seen is by someone who clearly has not played the game.  All the reviews that I see from people who have clearly played the game are positive.  They're even more than positive, they're outstanding.

6)   Expectations - So many people seem to think that polish and corporate backing matter in a game like this.  Baloney.  What matters is gameplay, potential, and the amount of fun that people are having in game.  It's like McDonalds versus a hole in the wall restaraunt.  Your quarter pounder at McDs is nicely packaged and perfectly processed.  Your thickburger at the hole in the wall is greasy, sloppy, and looks like a pile of horse manure.  Yet it 's the best burger you've eaten in your life.

I find myself watching this game and these forums daily just because of the spectacle this game has created.  Initial reviews look good, players are chomping at the bit to play, and if the game is good at this point what will it be a year from now when the devs have money rolling in?  I despise the thought of full looting, but I'm thinking about trying to be a bit more open minded and play the game as it was intended to be played.  That means instead of thinking I'm going to pve and then get all pissy when I get pk'ed, I instead go full bore pvp and enjoy the entertainment that comes from that playstyle.  With all the other crap on the market, would it really hurt to give the game a chance?  Especially now that it has aroused my interest like no other mmo I've kept track of before?

Darkfall might have a lot going for it, thanks to the freak mmo gamers who treat this crap like life and death.  Only such pure idiocy could create such a spectacle.

Thats total nonnsense. There are lots of people who played the game who are giving bad reviews. Just look at Evasia she was one of the biggest fanbois on this forum until she played it

What reviews are you talking about? I have yet to see any gaming site or mag review this game. And if your talking bout people on this board then its either from a fanboi or a hater and you cant take either seriously.

Well when you said you where a wow player i can understand your fantasy about  Darkfall. Intelligent conversation would be pointless. But im sure Darkfall app the support. Peace.

On some stuff you wrote I agree and on some stuff I disagree.

1- Is this game oficialy released? Last time anyone saw it, it was a pay for beta. In the good ol'days ppl were paid to play closed betas and worked on QA departments. Good times for the industry this days are. Paying workforce.

2- The difference betweeen a macDonalds burguer and a Oh So Juicy Tasty burguer is.... Salmonela. In Mc you hardly will get it on the other one you will get it for sure... now take that analogy and apply it to a properly released game and a half assed one.

3- Negative and Positive review - You are on the most part right. But you have to thank that crap to paid shills, lies from AV and of course the whiplash that usually comes with that. The counter-offensive, trolls and ceptics.

4- The market is filled with crap cause the consumer lowered their standards. And this payed beta ain't giving a good sign to the dev's to be. Expect even more crap to be released in no time. With pay2seeScreenShot before pay2beta.

Biggest reason why DF is laughed at : Its developer and the constant stream of bullshit that is spewed. 

e.g. 

• Your free to do anything !... anything ! ... What.. whats that ?
• Yes the combat is like Mount and Blade... and your free ... free to do anything... 
• Well by "free" as long as you want to PK someone all  day using the combined total.. 

Bad super crap up hyping is what made the game a farce.  Sod the game it looks amatuer at best but kudos to AV for being even more amateurish and making a bad launch with only a fraction of the normal numbers that rush into the next big thing. (Now rush my pretties.. rush into getting pre ordersand spamming F5 for a game which was supposed to release three months ago.. or was that three years ago. Um...)

Crazy stuff here on the DF forums crazy stuff.

Also on a more serious note since DF offical forums have become a facist reigme (and are about to go private I suspect)... this forum is probably one of the few places where the real truth of DF gets put out. Its like radio resistance or something. The irony of this being is that the forums here are actually BETTER than the official ones which are pretty much scarier. Hell I aint even registered on there.

In all most people enjoy a good car crash and a few explosions here and there.. MMO launches are not any different.

You are missing the negative reviews. They are being deleted in the official forums but can be read here. Notice that only fanbois were allowed to enter beta and only them preordered and are playing now. Wait until average neutral players start trying the game. That can take a lot of time though.

I have played it and agree with your opinion 100%

It may not have everything (like 4 legged mode and personal housing) but the game is just fun.

I read it best on the forums: "Where War and WOW were like driving a really polished comfortable Toyota Camry with your seatbelt on and AC going, Darkfall is like driving a 1980's 900 hp Porsche on three wheels"

I havent played the game either, but I have some high hopes when I eventually play. For now however, Im gonna bide my time and wait for the company to work out the bugs and get things running smoothly.

As far as fanbois and hater, well Im just trying to say in the middle.
I think its ridiculous to call the game a paid beta, or jump to conclusions that the company has LIED or is trying to rip people off.

Personaly when I look at Aventurine, I see a small company doing their best. Period.
