Yep the next expansion will be a water expansion with LOTS of sea battles and ship encounters. Now that we have had the land artillery of WC3 in WotLK we will see the sea battles in Maelstrom. Together with 2 new races, which according to the latest rumours can be played both on Alliance and Horde side. I still think the new expansion will launch in the Apr/May 2010 period. That would mean WotLK will only have 3 patches probably, with the final Lich King encounters in Dec this year. patch 3.1 Mar. patch 3.2 Jul, patch 3.3 Dec. The reason is they want 2 wide open launch periods for SC2 (Oct 2009) and D3 (Oct 2010). -- In the meantime though patch 3.1 is good in class possiblities. No doubt the dual specs are much needed and will enhance the gaming fun and choices (remember two sets needed per character). I love the building of the collosseum effort. I liked the same game mechanics in earlier content (like the Sunwell island changes). I still think the joining of the BG's from "anywhere" is a very very bad idea! . Apparently taken by the same idiots who changed the Arena rating "hidden rating" system.

Originally posted by Zorndorf Unfortunately i cant. The original post that i came across was made on diabloii.net which is now diii.net. I went back and tried to fish it out but i cant find it. The one linked in my post was made by someone on WoR a few months ago. Its possible that this is the same person though the post on diabloii.net was made about 3-4 months after WoW came out. I had totally forgotten about it untill i came across the one from WoR.
Went back to WoR and found another poster validating his post here
Either ways you can atleast be certain that the Maelstrom will be the next expack. Long before WotLK was announced the guys over at WoR predicted that Northrend would be in the next expack dispite people saying that Arthas had to be a lvl100 boss and that the Emarald Dream or the Maelstrom would follow TBC. And if they say the Maelstrom is next, iam inclined to believe they are right.
As for the 2 after Maelstrom, its possible that Blizz may merge them or drop them all together depending on the the success of their next gen MMO and the impact it has on the WoW playerbase. Then theres Diablo 3. I know alot of people who will leave WoW once Diablo 3 comes out especially when it has a free to play online component. Think thats enough speculating for one day =)

While i personally think you dont need a spec to heal unless your in a raid many do not share this view and it becomes a pain to try and convince them otherwise, now i wont have that problem.
mounted combat is hardly watering down the gameplay, if anything its improving it...slightly. I saw the video for mounted combat and while it hardly think it will be viable in any small enclosed space (read anything but open world PvP) i think it may provide a few interesting quests along the way. The dual specs will really, really help the more hybrid classes like the shaman and the druid. I am very excited since I play a Shaman. I really hate respecing and the dual spec will allow me to spec both elemental and restoration and I can, at the push of a button (with limitations), switch as needed. If I want to solo, then bam - elemental. If I am needed to heal, then I can go resto. I still like doing quests at 80 but trying to solo (well) as resto is a painful experience (compared to elemental). The original intent behind these classes were to make them fulfill multiple roles but as the talent trees got more specialized, people didn't want someone with a hybrid spec because a full spec was so much better. I think if Blizzard had it to do over, they would have not been as gung-ho about the talent trees. I like having a class and that is my class. In EQ, if you played a ranger, you were a ranger. In DAOC, if you played a skald, you were a skald. I really do not like the talent idea (to the degree Blizzard implemented it) but oh well, I think the dual specs will help a lot. The mounted issue should be a major hint as to the next expansion (IMHO): Maelstorm. I think there will be a lot of Underwater gameplay and in the water gameplay with that expansion so this is a way they can openly test and more importantly workout any issues with it in a way they can go ahead and get ready for the next expansion. Just my thought though. |

Yea Zorn which game did "better" since LotrOs patch already is released? ;) If WoW = The Beatles |

I hear the Lotro patch includes a new 12 men dungeon. I am just glad Blizzard introduces the dual specs classes and the revival of PvP gear on par with the latest Raid gear, so we don't have to wait one extra month before the season opens up again. Joining BG's from anywhere could be a bad idea still. As if no one learned from War's empty world mistake.
hehe Im sure both patches are pretty good that will offer lots of new fun for the players, I think Blizzard and Turbine are doing great with their content updates! :) If WoW = The Beatles |

Well as some said above.. look what was added to the latest PTR patch http://wotlkwiki.info/index.php/Main_Page Coralshell Turtle - Summons and dismisses a rideable Sea Turtle. This mount can't move very quickly on land, but she's a great swimmer. Theres also talk a 5man Icecrown instance |

I cut this from WOW EU ------------------------------------------ World of Warcraft PTR Patch 3.1.0 General All Ground Mounts may now swim without dismounting the rider. Flying Mounts still may NOT, and will dismount the rider upon entering water. ----------------------------------------- I read many places that the dual specc would be accesible from lvl 40, but here it says "Players at maximum level " :( was hoping to get this for my lvl 49 priest, oh well, guess i will hit 80 some day..
