Oh you mean how I posted my opinions that LoTRO's gameplay is inferior to Vanguard's and the fans of LoTRO didn't take kindly to it and bashed, flamed me to death for it? Reread some of those threads from a non-bias perspective and then come back. I'm very critical of LoTRO, because the only thing that saved that game is the name.  And, the only thing I did get wrong is predicting that Vanguard would have more subscriptions than LoTRO,  however I also thought that SOE would be competent enough to optimize graphics enough and do some real marketing for the game. 

I still stand by my OPINION that Vanguard blows LoTRO out of the water in terms of gameplay.  And it is pure fact that Vanguard, at launch, had tons more depth than LoTRO did at launch.

Tbh, your post is incorrect. It wouldnt be the best idea to go by the youtube videos. Maybe if you have a WMP high quality one, you can make an educated guess. But when I got into beta, my standing for DF went throught the roof.

"Dont believe everything you read on forums!"  makes sense....so......we should not believe you since you can be one of them(paid by av).

 So if we dont believe you...there are no paid posters....so...it theres no paid posters we should believe you(since youre not paid).

This is absolutely true.  I've never seen a game with as many shills camping in other games spamming ooc telling people to come play darkfall.  I've seen discussions but NEVER have I see the out and out disruption these people have caused.  I've seen it in two different games.  I saw it in EQ2 and in Vangard.  People were logged in spaming the chat channels with stuff like Darkfall Rulez, Come Play Darkfall, a real game.  etc.

absolutely true.  Amazon runs a business calle MTURK that is used for precisely those types of actions.  You'll get paid $2.50 to make 10 posts on a forum or review a product .. it's not worth the time but it does happen.  That being said i'd say it's the people that support the game that are being paid as opposed to all the ones bashing it.  Nobody is going to pay people to undercut a tiny game that sucks this bad.

You know as I read forums I am starting to really understand there a some really messed up people in our MMORPG community.

Post like this, SOE haters extreme, NGE still popping up (hey its 2009) let it go :) Im not saying anyone is really wrong for it but some of you guys really hold some weird grudges.

You know I remember when Anarchy Online came out and it had a horrible release but then it took a 360 and turned into a really great game but till this day 7 years later  some will say I would never play Anarchy because it had a horrible release. I undertsand but if you really wanted to play the game and people told you all had been fixed wouldn't you want to find out? Or just keep parroting the same thing for 7 years :)

the thing about anarchy online that really bugged me ...yes the realise was awful but there was more too it.

it took along time to get it fixed and then after the fix ....they started putting thing in like the "take it easy" exp patch

people where leveling to fast and they put a damper on your skills like if you got to much exp in a mission it would shut down your char and you couldnt use skills ..

so you had to exit mission or get killed.

also i recall sharks swiming under ground and they could attack you and you couldnt attack them back so basically your fubar.

then they started screwing around with the pvp zones

all of a sudden there was alot less anarchy in in anarchy online .

after dealing with that rubbish ..i knew age of conan was gonna be a big flop ...the programming they did on ao was a joke .

There are different kinds of posters but you can put most people into three types...

1) The type that will label anyone who makes a positive post about something they don't like.. as a shill, fanboi or viral marketer.

2) The type that will attack a company or product to the point that you think they need the special pills that only a special doctor can prescribe for them... perhaps even restraints and a padded room.

3) The people who will stick with a product no matter how badly the developer screws them over.  They label anyone who had a negative experience as a ... troll.

It really doesn't seem that the "normal" posters hang around that long.. some do but I mean... honestly...

The end point would be...  Regardless of whether or not the OP likes Dark Fall... you cannot tell other people that they will not like something that is subjective material.  Let alone that anyone who says they do like it is a "paid poster" aka viral marketer.

Darkfall can't even afford to open more servers.   I mean if this is pretty much a "rip off" another couple servers would allow them to take advantage of more victims.  How exactly do you figure they can afford to pay people to post here?

Darkfall probably had more troll post than ANY other game that has been on this site.  Including the SWG veteran forum (where I took part to a great extent years back).  I've never understood this personally...  Why waste the energy... just don't buy it?

When the NGE happened to SWG (yes its 2009 but there is a point here) it happened to existing customers who had bought the product.  The Troll fest on Darkfall started long before anyone could even think about paying for a product.  You can just not buy a product when it comes out rather than wage some drool dripping campaign against a product that at the time wasn't even available for anyone to see.

I don't entirely disagree with you either.  But that isn't going to stop those who want an open 3d world, seige/pvp based, no level, no class based game.  As to my knowledge, there are only two of those on the market and DF is the only one that is fantasy based.

When you throw people who are starved for a type a game a bone, they are going to take it for all its worth, even if it is being run out of someone's basement.

 

I agree that those who want it bad will buy this. But that hurts the OPs point because those that really want this already know about it. I know what is advertised is not always what is gotten but DF did present itself as more than a pk heaven with full loot. It advertised itself as all things to all people and playstyles. Sadly I think what was released is just a pk heaven with full loot but thats for another thread. The 40-50k who followed this like a religion will play no matter if they have to eat horse shite to do it but they are gimping themselves in so many ways as a company for a future playerbase. Lets face it the pvp crowd has serious ADD and will move on to something else the second it hits. Some it may be Earthrise and others it could be Aion or MO. So they do need those other percentage regardless if the most hardcore followers want them or not because they will be the first ones to jump ship. Sorry thats not all directed at your post of course but I kinda went west after going east...bah anyways cheers
