Were people really under the illussion that this game which had sold only 7-8k units did infact have 300k people waiting to buy it?

Once its sales are up and running we 'll all go and buy the damn thing since we are all addicted motherfuckers. Rest is nerd rage of not being in game so far,

well there are 350K forum subs now, and growing at almost 5K/week, and 2500+ online on the forums on a regular basis so there really is no shortage of demand atm...

more likely, the number of people hanging out to buy DF is prob in the 50-100K range, with i would guesstimate 10-20K current subs.

I love that this was the exact thing many skeptics including myself were complaining about before release.  We had fanboys stating left and right that we will all definitely get to try the game before we buy it and i always asked for the link to the quote and no one could give it to me where he definitely said we will get a free trial.  

Now we have haters (not skeptics, "haters") using the exact same point to claim that aventurine lied and some fanboys (not that you are nearly as rabid as the ones in the past) stating that it had never been claimed as definite.  (Like the skeptics said all along)

He simply said *Everyone will be able to try the game for free before buying it*. Wich basically is a promise.

The quote is very specific, thousand of players are able to sample for FREE. There is double lie in here. First of all, you have to pre-order the game, so thats not free (1st lie). And, there is a "minimal activation" fee for each preorder (2nd lie).

The activation fee is unheard of in this field, they charge to activate my account? Maybe next time they will charge me for each log on? This is crazy.

there aren't any, go look. ALL the whining & crying about "tasos lied to us about free trial" comes from misinterpreting that 1 statement.

Hmm... wouldn't get too high on my horse if I were you.

Back when the statement was made, even fans were arguing it meant there would be a free trial for people before they bought it. The official line from fans was, "Tasos *said* there will be a free trial! Try harder trolls!"

Then, of course, as soon as that didn't happen, the same fans (like clockwork) immediately did a 180 and started with, "He didn't *promise* there would be a trial! Try harder trolls!"

True to form, the fans will change their argument as many times as necessary, to be "right" and to call the other side "trolls".

Just like Jan 22nd... Just like "no pre-orders"...
