Last night he screwed it up for the first time and fell to the ground, which took so long he was able to take off his weapons before going splat.

But it showed a lot of imagination, and can't be accused of being your typical 'fetch this, go there' quest.

This is SOOOOO sad.

Wanting to be recognized as an "authority" on mmorpg.com and how do you do that ?

- putting EVE in your resume of course (showing off a so called hyped intellectual sandbox game - or should I say "cockpit").

- saying every month you watch your "son" of 16 play WotLK.

Kyleran,

... even watching over their shoulders ... can't be done by 16 year olds. If I try to do that I get hit.

Just say you try WotLK and we will forgive....

----

Just funny to see these posters hiding behind teenagers.

They just need to say: a hell of a nice game I always like to look at and come back to.

No need to include your teenage sons as an excuse....

You got the wrong guy, Kyle is not the one you need to aim that resentment, the other one with a son is.

No no. The other one was the obvious troll I took care of in another thread :)))

I know Kyle, he's the right person to talk to, but I know I can't look over the shoulders of my 16 year old :)) anymore.

Difficult age you know... Yesterday I saw him for the first time in the general chat of Lake Wintergrasp say something like 'Thanks Blizzard ... you suck". We lost the castle of course ....

One more month and I guess he will be posting on mmorpg.com the useal frustrations at this age :))))

:)) Anyway Kyle is mentioning the play of his son one time too many I think.

No hard feelings anyway. :))).

It's just that if you look at a Wow screen after X days of non play ...., it just invites you to play with all those bright colors.

I think there's something wrong with you guys.

A person comments on a game his or her kid plays and you label them a troll? why because I don't think WoW is a game I would play myself?

Seriously and you wonder why people can't stand WoW fanbois?

I'm sorry my son enjoys WoW and Dude you couldnt take care of me in a thread if you tried.

Wanna put up a eve v wow thread ? i'd own your ass.

morons.

Second part is when you come back to that place as a bigger level and you get a quest to help your past self to defend the huge hourglass.

Yes that one is very good. I too think Blizzard "did good" with this one. Although i think a couple more classes and or races would have helped them keep folks attention.  I have an alt  mage i am leveling through Outland and the place is dead. I wonder what folks will do when they tire of WOTLK.  But as said, all in all its a much better xpac than BC.

The quest in wotlk are great. Those that wont accept that have never tried them imho. The phasing quests are in a league of their own. The best I have seen.

(btw. strange how all mmoprg.com threads seems, at some point, to degenerate to trolling and anti-trolling. I thought it was common knowledge to NOT feed trolls and stay on topic.)

Yeah, but unlike normal forums, here you have trolls feeding each other, quite interesting, don't you agree?

You have self sufficient trolls here that feed themselves...

The most immersive quests in an MMO involve:

1)  Killing something (makes sense; some faction wants you to thin out the goblin population)

2)  Collect something (makes sense; someone needs ore, gems, plants, or other ingredients)

3)  Collect pieces of some heroic item (very epic; get the blade in this dungeon, have the pommel crafter here, get the scabbard there, etc...)

4)  Deliver something (delivering mail, for example, makes lots of sense).

The most non-immersive quests in an MMO involve:

1)  Participating in some linear contrived cutscene drama

2)  Doing some repeated task that makes no sense to be repeated (i.e., flying the dragon to talk to some NPC when such would be a one-time event)

Naw, WOLTK quests are the worst of the worst, and the servers are emptying out big-time from what I can tell.  Even fantasy worlds can "make sense" and WOLTK does not "make sense", but feels like some overly scripted and contrived second rate drama.

WOW was never brought down by another game, but ironically is being brought down by itself.

For the Horde!

Well yeah, if you're the miserable type that spends time telling everyone else how much you hate the game as if it somehow got your sister pregnant and left her, then WoTLK will seem like the "worst ever".

For everyone else, we're enjoying the epitome of the MMORPG genre right here.   And so are game developers, game critics, and millions of other people.

Oh yeah, popularity doesn't make something good - but both critical acclaim, from both 'critics' and the people that actually make games, as well as broadly positive review scores AS WELL as millions of players do make it good.

Deny it all you want but the very fact the game has such a violent opposition by certain antagonistic on this site is probably to the game's credit rather than against it.

Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...

There you go again, it's the other way around. The fact it is good is what brings about all those positives.

Its nice, its like WoW is a kind of MMO training wheels for him.

He loves the babyish quests and the cute purple armor he gets to buy from pvp.

He plays arena with his friend from school and My sister in laws friends nephew.

Little guys are doing good.

I tell him in big boy MMOs when you die you lose everything you have on, it freaks him out a little.

He plays on Dark Iron I believe its a Pvp server NA.

Perhaps, when he grows up and gets a bit more mature, he to will be able to spell his name in 133t.

By your definition then, there are very few big boy MMO's, unless by big boy you mean fat, then it is all of them, none of them any good with the exception of EVE.

If you were not being sarcastic I apoligize for this post:

"The Battle for the Undercity".  Truly epic quest.  I loved the quest so much that I wanted to level my other 70s just so I could do it again.

Naw, WOLTK quests are the worst of the worst, ...

5. Include HUNDREDS of MINI games that in themselves include quests. So the questing is about different mini games like controlling an Anti Air systems, go back in time and see why some races became corrupted, control devices and launch rockets.

6. Include daily open world PvP quests which puts the pressure on those accepting the quests because they are flagged on for PvP and instead of gathering AND killing PVE, you kill PvP ... AND control devices... AND get the reward of the daily quest, like thining out the ennemies.

7. Create world shifting (not phasing) to come into alternate realities, lets you walk into history of scenes in Warcaft 3...(of course without a loading screen - only Blizz knows how to do this).

8. Change the landscape (phasing) NOT to include an in game cinematic, but to see Allied bases build up that let you advance across the map. Enemy bases become Allied points to conquer the map further, but only for your character. This happens all of the time in WotLK and of course if you didn't play, you only saw the famous cutscene on the web. But non players don't know Icecrown is "conquered" step by step - subzone by subzone - by this phasing technique". So you know it - at least - now

9. Let the complete server aid to build a new event and buildings (like the Colloseum in patch 3.1). And create new events in it like Arena PVE fights.

10. Make a vertical 3D world that is awesome compared to the recently failed Wow killers. Those who ever entered the Fjord regions know what I am talking about.

a PITY >WotLK got a 93% review (average) of the most reknown review sites.

Scoring best PC game of 2008 and of course that's why it received best MMORPG title of 2008 ....from the elite British Audio and Video Awards.

Try again.

What orifice did you pull that last statement out of:

www.bafta.org/awards/video-games/nominations/

WoTLK was nominated for best game of 2008, but LOST to Call of Duty 4.

Large text for the blind.

Maybe you meant the AIAS ANNUAL AWARDS where it was nominated for 3 awards, won 1 (MMOG of the year) against Pirates of The burning sea and Warhammer Online oh and thenethernet.com/, lost 2 (game of the year and Outstanding Achievement in Musical Composition).

I love how once games get really popular or are on top for a while everyone hates them. It's just like the world of music. All the posers who hate WoW will cheer when something replaces it but then they will all end up hating it again if it stays on top for too long. Hypocrits, all of them.

Why not? the guy could be posting at the office? During lunch breaks or hell maybe he works from home? I played Magic the gathering when I was in college (still visit the Card site) and I have a couple kids whats wrong with his banner and his post activity?

I think it's cool that he lets his son play wow, I sure as hell don't with the way Trade chat is moderated. I would actually suggest a game like Wizard101 or that new cartoon network game to his son instead.
