Pure speculatation here. We don't know excaclty what Blizzards next mmo will be. Some think it's a space mmo/sci-fi while others think it could be a WoW2. Or perhaps it could be something completely different!
Anyway; Could this little scene be a hint about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyTZLMCb-vk (check 0:47-0:51) You see Azeroth aswell as two other planets;)

Doubt it.. Maybe a hint that you could warp between other worlds because the current one is dull and not much hugely new can be added to it. >_> |

Aside from the hate speech I highly doubt that is a hint. That instance is all about the titans www.wowwiki.com/Titan. The titans are the creators of the planets in warcraft and live in space or something like that. So more then likely that scene you are referring too are just holograms of other worlds they forged.

I could see them make a Starcraft MMO based on the models from SC2. It would make sense for them to go in that direction. |

Sure would bring out a lot of money, just like WoW, considering the fan base for StarCraft. |

You know, I think that's a brilliant find. I completely agree that they're giving us a huge hint. I had posted before on the general forums about the next "expansion." I personally believe that the next MMO is actually WoW2 for a number of reasons and your find kinda helps me put the pieces together. Of course I could be totally wrong, but I think there are a lot of indicators pointing towards WoW2. I'll list a few here: 1. Blizzard often works in 3's. If you count the original content and the two expansions, then you've hit the 3 mark. 2. Blizzard is running into an issue where the price of entry is too high for new players who want to play with the greater 70-80 population. The task of leveling through all that content is just too daunting. I think WoW2 will let new players start on a level par with veterans. 3. The death of the Lich King will represent the close of the primary storyline in WoW and represents a great point for starting something new. 4. We've explored all or most of the classic continents. I don't know of any other continents in the classic lore, but maybe there are others.? 5. This would work well with the hero class. My theory is that the hero class will basically turn into a prestige class for people who leveled through the original content. WoW2 won't allow new players to create DK's, but they will have they're onw hero class in their 3rd expansion. 6. Achievements from the old content will serve as bragging rights to veterans. 7. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, Blizz wants to show off all that they've learned in a new expansion that new players can enjoy. If you've played from the beginning then you know how the game has evolved and all the lessons learned. When I said these things on the official forums people kept replying, "there's no way they're gonna ditch WoW, it makes too much money." They missed my point, but maybe I didn't make it well. Anyway, I think you've really stumbled on something here.

It could be a hint but you guys forget... Blizz already stated that their new MMOG would be based in a new IP and not in one that Blizzard already made game on. There goes the neighborhood |

I'd like to see the exact quote. I don't recall them saying that it will be a "new IP." But maybe they did. I dunno. Regardless, that doesn't mean that they're not working on WoW2, it just means that their new MMO is a new IP. |

(Outland Lady Sinestra said this "Lady Sinestra says: Overlord Mor'ghor, I presume... A pleasure to finally make your acquaintance. I am Lady Sinestra. presumable he is hiding in Grim Batol wich is still closed. so WoW content / lore is endless, and they can drag it on for quite some time. Also Blizz has stated that it would be a new IP, tho this doesnt say much they can lie :) |

The Draenai came in a spaceship from another planet didn't they (long time since, and I only tried WoW briefly when Burning Crusade came out but did choose to be a Draenai and enjoyed their background story). And so other planets and space travel is already present in this game. |

Warhammer's lore is fantasy for tweens, anyway. What's the big deal? So now there are two incredibly similar, simplistic fantasy settings. Zoh noes. They made a good game, despite the "lore." I know I ignored the lore while playing it. But I still had fun. And I'm sure if they make a StarCraft MMORPG (Or some other setting they've made before) they'll make it a solid, fun MMORPG. (Although I really don't want to try a StarCraft MMORPG) |

Originally posted by xeniar IP means Intellectual property right? So if they're on a new planet with new lore, new factions, new races, etc...then isn't that "new IP"? The term "new IP" could be very broadly interpreted. |

I don't think so. Besides Starcraft I don't think Blizzard has ever made a science-fiction game and they would be completely new to space sims. I think it will be another fantasy setting. Time will tell. It will not be WoW2 though. You can't make a successor to an already established MMO if you want to retain players from your first MMO (see the mistake SoE made with EQ2, most players either left or stayed in EQ1). |

I really wish they would go ahead and let us know what it's going to be. But, when they make the announcement... what does that do to the current WoW community?

They already said it's not going to be WoW2 and it's not going to be stracraft,warcraft,diablo... though a game that takes place in space is a reasonable guess. This game is suppose to be bring something new to the table it won't be a wow with different skin according to Blizzard and it's suppose to attract people that are done with wow World of Warcraft is a proof that MMORPG quality should affect schedule/budget and not the other way around. |
