Originally posted by heartless I'm still kind of jaded because of that. UO2 was going to be great. I wasn't a big fan of the monster art created by that comic guy (forgot his name) but overall the game looked fantastic. Aye, was totally looking forward to UO2, but I knew it was never gonna see the light of day from the moment EA changed the name to Ultima Worlds Online: Origin. Everytime you start messing with a name of a game, you know the game itself is going to be changed to reflect the naming. And the guy I think was Todd McFarland from Spawn. The music was to have been done by some weird goth band as well, something to do with Pixies... Edit: The Grim Fairies was the band. |

If you're going to stick it out there, don't be afraid if you get it cut off. |

This would be my guess as well. Of course DF lacks the lore that UO had, but still if it has all the elements I would think you would pretty much learn to love it. I loved early UO and I am waiting on DF to release again so I can try it in hopes that it will be my new UO. However, I have also realized that the WoW era of MMOs have some really good features that made MMOs so much easier to play and less frusterating then the hardcore vibe of UO. Perhaps you want a new UO without the work that you'd have to put into it. I don't mean that as an insult, sorry if you take it that way. I mean it as in the fact that skill-based games are often more work than the common place level-based games. Although I hear DF doesn't have player housing and this was definately one of my top three reasons for loving UO so much. I will still give it a shot at some point though after the wrinkles are ironed out. |

Pretty sure theyre just holding off on some of the things that didnt make it into initial release kinda like war held off on many things and just added them in gradually. |
