The reason I ask is because I heard an ugly rumor that there is no official way to cancel outside of putting a stop payment on the whole thing. Since I don't have a paying account with Aventurine, I cannot do this myself.

I know it sounds like a dumb question but would someone with an active account humor me please and see if there is a "cancel subscription" button anywhere on the account management screen?

Normal and Darkfall don't go in the same sentence. As I said in another  thread. Dancing between disasters is what AV do best. Next week I am sure will have some more Tasos generated popcorn.

Also as for the billing.. I believe they were manually inputting details in global collect, meaning the CC details were as plaintext in some inbetween point in greece ? There a fantastic thread on here somewhere. So next week CC details hacked maybe ?

When AV stop being rank amatuers I might consider this game in all seriousness. Oh and they update there fantastic website with a truen in game feature list. Sorry white/grey border peoples .. time to move on.

I wasn't gloating about killing anyone, i was just sharing a fun experience.  This is a forum, people  do like to share their experiences from games we have fun in....not all of us are only here to play forum walls and put down everyone like you.

We outnumbred them by 2, and they were red players (players who have been killing their own race)...so what would you have us do mr noble...tell 2 of our guys to sit this fight out?  Sorry take your carebear viewpoint elsewhere as this is DF and we would not receive that kind of treatment from those red players if they outnumbered us.

 

And bruticus...stop trolling, its getting sad.  Im not trying to spin anything as fact...im saying my opinion and saying that it is an opinion shared by many people, which it is, thats a fact.  Also a fact that others have a different opinion.

Im just glad I have an awsome mmo to play while you just get to play forum wars.

We came across a few red players attacking some allies in sort of a ruined temple type structure where some mobs have overtaken (may have been a quest area but not positive as we didnt have a quest).  We had about 5 in our group on vent, and decided to crouch walk to the side of this large wall and wait.  When we were all ready, we all drew back our bows (Except for one guy who for some reason is anti bow and arrow so he used mana missle) and turned the corner and took out one of the red players in one round of arrows.  Obviously he was already low on health.  We got a second round of arrows/missle off on another red player before they realized that we were here and what was going on.  We ended up taking the second target down, while the other one escaped.  We claimed our reward off of their corpses, as well as an alignment boost for killing red players, and were happy to find about 600 gold between then (assumed that they had got that over other players) a whistle (200g) and a crap ton of arrows.

 

So thats just two stories from day one.  Other mmos i remember killing 10 boars etc for days minus WAR where i was able to "pvp" in instances which was a little more fun, so being able to get some end game experience in on day 1 was very fun.

 

Anyways now that the "omg lol DF phail" nonsense is over, the game can now really start to shine and we hope that the developers solve their billing/account issues so they can focus on more content asap and balancing some of the stuff in game that needs it.

First Sync is not totally gone, and than is far from be a good game with all probs it has right now.

They never tested with many player,they never tested most of the "end game" and in this moment this game has many more problems than pros.

Sorry, but  i was too stupid to waste 50$ for a this game.

!WE ARE PAYING FOR AN OPEN BETA!

Wait 1-2 months before buying it, don't be fool to trust fanboys!

All I can say is that I really hope they sort out their billing and get Darkfall where it should be. If in doubt, use a short-life low balance credit card, just in case.

As for all those people who talk about PvP and ballance, well ... you're trapped in the WoW mindset.  Sandbox PvP should never be balanced by the Devs - just like real life, fights are not always evenly matched.  The real fun starts when players learn how to win despite the odds, and as anyone who follows EVE knows, players collectively are always more creative than the Devs can be!

I still want to know who thought up using an unarmed mining capital ship to smuggle kill-on-sight pirates into safe space so they could unleash havoc

Grafhics are maybe second to AoC but becouse world is one big huge world not small maps like AoC Darkfall grafhics are superior overall becouse it give a real immersive feel to it, a living breathing world.

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

 Please, tell me what 'end game' is in a sandbox game like darkfall? Clan wars? Raids? Stuff people do now, just days into the game...

It's a sandbox game. There is no end game...

That aside, yes there are issues. But it is still a great game with good concepts. It will take some time to polish and yes it released too soon. It wont stop me from enjoying it, however. And many others like me.

That's your instant gratification right there! Screw games forcing you with repetitive quests so you just can have a few seconds of action after weeks of grinding.

PvP is not a carrot that should be dangled in front of players. it should happen instantly. Also heavily PvE focused MMOs brought all the wrong crowd in the MMO world. They shouldn't been playing MMOs in the first place. Just some random single player and have the irc open.

It has.

A beautiful world, forested valleys, hills, plains, ice wastes, deserts. And a massive world. Full of detail and things to explore, seamless, no instancing at all. You can live in your corner of the world and never meet so many other players.

It has stuck to its core aims, full loot player driven pvp. Not like WAR which didn't have the balls to even have fll pvp in T4 zones.

A nice pvp system. I am not just talking about the combat style.

In what other game can you catch a glint in the corner of your eye coming from a valley and then spend a while stalking your prey by listening carefully.

Set up ambushes with stealth (no INVISIBILITY BUTTON, actualy stealth). group pvp with using scouts and etc to locate then out manouever the enemy group.

Earlier I was playing and our group was jumped by an alfar raiding party of about 20, we scattered, some died, I and another made it back to Sanguine with Alfar riders everywhere by sneaking back.

What is to come?

Clan driven endgames. Clans will form power blocks, bitter rivalries. Clan politics/metagaming etc will drive the end game, in a constant effort to dominate. Massive battles will be fought, and the graphics can support those battles, unlike with AoC, who ever thought you would have truly epic pvp in that game with those graphics?

You will have something to lose, like in EVE, losing a town will hurt, and piss you off, hell I donated about 200g I farmed solo towards the clan city today, I will be annoyed if we lose it.

In war if our guild lost a keep with our name on it no one gave a damn, no rivalries formed, pvp was meh.

What can be better?

The map, need to be able to zoom, see a political map mode, group leader must be able to ping the map to let  a scattered group know where to regroup at. Need to be able to bookmark locations.

Trade, the system is not running yet, but we need to have some form of player shops. My idea is to allow players to place npc vendors and 'fill them' with stock to sell, only let these vendors be placed in player towns and hamlets maybe to cause the market to regionalise and not focus on starter zones.

I would like to see static nodes which clans can build mines over, give more incentive to having a kingdom, maybe have small outposts outside the town on the boundary of your kingdom.

Other stuff I will add, but the game is very very solid IMO.

We came across a few red players attacking some allies in sort of a ruined temple type structure where some mobs have overtaken (may have been a quest area but not positive as we didnt have a quest).  We had about 5 in our group on vent, and decided to crouch walk to the side of this large wall and wait.  When we were all ready, we all drew back our bows (Except for one guy who for some reason is anti bow and arrow so he used mana missle) and turned the corner and took out one of the red players in one round of arrows.  Obviously he was already low on health.  We got a second round of arrows/missle off on another red player before they realized that we were here and what was going on.  We ended up taking the second target down, while the other one escaped.  We claimed our reward off of their corpses, as well as an alignment boost for killing red players, and were happy to find about 600 gold between then (assumed that they had got that over other players) a whistle (200g) and a crap ton of arrows.

 

So thats just two stories from day one.  Other mmos i remember killing 10 boars etc for days minus WAR where i was able to "pvp" in instances which was a little more fun, so being able to get some end game experience in on day 1 was very fun.

 

Anyways now that the "omg lol DF phail" nonsense is over, the game can now really start to shine and we hope that the developers solve their billing/account issues so they can focus on more content asap and balancing some of the stuff in game that needs it.


 

Grafhics are maybe second to AoC but becouse world is one big huge world not small maps like AoC Darkfall grafhics are superior overall becouse it give a real immersive feel to it, a living breathing world.

 

Lol. That literally makes no sense. The graphics are awesome because the world is so huge and it has no instancing? hahahaha. I've heard that argument for games with bad performance like Vanguard as an excuse to why its bad - but how do you use that to prove the graphics are 2nd to only AoC. Haha - wow - I'm still in shock at that attempt to hype something that is average/below average in compared to current mmos (nothing wrong with being average - but to try to play it off as good or a strength is just laughable and makes you lose all credibility).

 

I'm going to assume that post was sarcasm (probably was - sarcasm can be hard to catch over the internet).

If we are focusing on join dates, your account date correlates with the time the darkfall ratings spam (and berating other games) started here on mmo. It also correlates with the off-topic post spam in non-darkfall forums.
