bots can't simulate people, bots will only do what the program tells them to do, people will do things you never expect. |

quite - if anything, the data proves the opposite is true. the server & client are as stable, or more stable than any other recent MMO on release, and i've been there for all the big ones: DAOC, WOW, AoC, WAR, DF. of those, WOW was the most flaky release for me. as far as i'm concerned, all MMOs have problems at launch, the only question that matters is how fast they are able to fix the problems.
DF is going fine so far, objectively speaking. not great, not bad, just fine. |

I dunno guys. From all the posts I've read from last Wed through the weekend, stability is not the watchword that came to mind.

Even if you do have stability, you are lacking one thing that only human players can give you, the desire to break your game for all its worth. No bot will go out and do that because they can only do what the devs tell them to do. The one thing I've learned about MMOs in my 8 years of playing is, if you come up with 5 ways something can (and should) be done, expect that the players will find at least 2-5x more ways of accomplishing it. You can't account for that with bots, sorry. |

But it's an indie company! The rules of Debate are really simple; once you have to stoop to insults instead of facts, logic, or reason to try and win your argument, you've lost. |

Bit of a myth. Yes things were shit on wednesday evening/thursday/friday. They were bad. But since the patches and fixes I have crashed a grand total of ZERO times. I have had pings under 80 most of the time, and the only downtime has been when further patches are being deployed, or scheduled maintenance which lasts 1 hour. In other games things were worse, WoW was terrible for crashes and massive lag long after release. Not a flame on WoW but things are being blown out of proportion a bit imo. |

I can assure you, as can anyone of the numerous members of my guild, that after the "Syncing issues patch", with which the servers were down for over 12 hours to fix, the game has been running practically flawlessly. I haven't crashed in over 25 hours of gameplay, I haven't bugged out, and my ping has been a steady 120-150, with no spikes even when there's 50+ people on screen. So yeah, either everyone in my clan and myself are lucky as crap, or those people posting that are full of shit. |
