I have been with Age of Conan from Early Access till almost 2 months after release. Every honest person here knows the biggest issues with Age of Conan were gaps in content and broken / missing endgame. Plus that crafting was a big joke. The client itself was pretty stable, altho I myself had a week or so CTD's issues between 2 craptastic patches. But the servers themselves were rocksolid and stable! And more importantly.... I was able to play the game from level 1 to level 45 ( moment when I quit the game) without a single issue. -------------------- When GOA got their act together here in Europe with WAR in the Open Beta... the release itself a week later was pretty smooth. Open Beta was a total mess. The game servers were rocksolid and so were the clients. In the first month I had not a single CTD! Nor did my friends nor my gf. There was a very craptastic patch somewhere end of october that caused a couple days of heavy CTD'ing that's it. Again, with WAR it was boring PVE content, boring RvR and horrible broken Endgame that was and still is plague'ing the game.

The game might be great, but so far ive wastet three days of my life trying to get it work, my patience is up and the only thing these kinda idiots understand if you hit them on their vallet.
I work as a support for an ISP. And believe me, telling them "I will cancel this and that if you don't fix it now." Is #care in our eyes. It takes the time it takes, and thats it. Shut up and get a job. |

What are you gonna do three weeks from now when your char gets blackholed and all your support emails gets ignored for a week? Think that kinda situation is fun? Im just not gonna put myself in a spot where that kinda shit could happen.
So as ive statet earlier, if they keep up this lvl of incompetence, I will cancel the preorders, cause theres just no point trying, even if they fix it tomorrow or a day later, next time shit hits the fan, were are just gonna start all over again. Its a waste of time. |

And there we have it ladies and gentlemen, this man, regardless of the launch will still be playing the game. "IF they dont fix my accounts by tonight" Just leave man, oh wait you do want to play the great game hahaahah |

The thing you fail to realise is that they dont have a customersupport apartment, they prolly have one or two of the devs answering the emails they get.
So yes, even though I agree about the pointlessness of whining to customer suport, I think its the right thing to do this time. And frankly, I dont even care it its right or wrong anymore, my interest in this game has dropped to just above zero, if they dont fix my accounts I DONT GIVE A FUCK, ill just move on.
Thx but I dont need a job, I got plenty of money coming from elsewhere. |

Maybe, maybe not. Heres a fact though, if they dont take my money today, then wont get it for at least a few weeks. Plus If their game dosnt hold up, as if I get bad reports from my friends/guildies, then they wont ever get my pennies, if I find another game in the meantime, they wount get my pennies either. |

Well maybe its about time you moved the ***** on now? If your interest is so low why the hell are you still here, go spend some of that money thats pouring in from elsewhere on a better game. Toodles |

Let's wait a couple weeks, when you worked hard in skilling up your character(s) in your oh so perfect game and your character(s) are suddenly affected by that loophole bug, so you cannot play them anymore. You then find out, that your support emails are ending up on a big pile and are left unanswered. Wonder if you still think your game is still oh so perfect. And keep praying to your almighty god Tasos. Wonder if you still going to be happy dandy here on the forums, when you are forced to delete your character(s) to be able to play again, because there is no Ingame Support. Cheers my friend. |

Uh in AoC during the early access the servers were down about 50% of the time. Once the commercial release hit...it's funny. The game actually ran flawlessly for me until they started patching it, then I started getting the constant gray maps and OOM errors and the subsequent attempted 13 gig "patches". SWG it's been a while but I don't really remember any problems other than wondering "WTF why am I killing butterflies and rabbits? This isn't very Star Warsy". LotRO and WAR were both smooth for me. Only ones I played at release I can comment on. |

How ironic, tellin me to wait to play the game that is supposedly say is perfect (which i never, its just got the features which i want in a game and i'll gladly stand by it to see how it turns out)., when you are there bashing it before you even played it. Maybe YOU should stfu and do exactly what you told me to do, then no one would be posting retarded comments and we would all just wait to see how it turned out, instead of speculating and bashing an indy company because they dont give you a courtesy call ever hour. |

You lost me when you said AO was a decent launch. Do some actual research before you lie. AO is held up as one of the worst launches ever. Darkfall is rapidly reaching the same pinicle of suckage tho. They just should of called this a 4 week pre order preview without a wipe and the community would of been much nicer about this. Calling this a release is a little rich. |

Wrong. In AO, you could stay away from the cities and hunt elsewhere. You could talk to people ingame. You could plan your character. There was also 60,000 subscribers at that time, and it did NOT take long before there were 2 servers to split the population. The two aren't comparable. If you weren't at the launch, then shut your mouth. Played: Best thread ever: |

it was flawless on release.. full settings + everything on max over nvidia control panel.. after those 3 weeks performance drop was like twice.. but that wasnt release :) |

It didn't come up until after 4pm EST Sat and was down half of Monday. For arguments sake, I'll go with your 1 day assertion and say it was down a 33% of the time. Still not great. We were paying for that time and didn't get compensated for it. For a while, I bought the Funcom/fanboi excuse that the problem was on the user end, until the June 12th patch when I started getting those issues. There was a work around for the 13 gig patch, but it was still a joke that it was even necessary. |

Originally posted by greesha sounds like ur the one who didnt play AO on launch, OR you did it on a POS machine. I had what was considered a highend rig back then, and I didnt expect any problems besides FPS lag in cities.
Try to remember a lil harder. |

actually your somewhat right, Funcom DID have problems shipping out the preorders in time, I remeber being worried about not being able to play after the early access because I hadnt received my retail box and key yet.
What did Funcom do?? THEY EXTENDED THE EARLY ACCESS!!!
Thats right, they gave the benefit of the doubt to the customers, and let them play for what I think was another week untill the activatet their retail account. What did Aventurine do? The EXACT opposite.
Thanks for reminding me again how shitty Aventurines customer support is. |
