Originally posted by AzalinRex With the reputation that Adventurine has with not communicating certain bugs and exploits and such or even acknowledging they are there, I'm not surprised. I'm just a bit dismayed since, if and when this gets fixed, those guilds that did have the advantage, will still have it. I know Adventurine has said that they are "fixing" the most important bugs at the moment, but in the long run, isn't this exploit a big bug. Just my opinion. |

No, it wasn't just that bad for me...it was like that for 80% of people.
But it was good for 20% or so, hence the unfairness. |

Actually it was that bad for me. I just didn't hang around the starter town goblin spawns because it was futile. I did the first two goblin quests there so I could afford a better starter weapon. One quest I had to collect 4 axes and since it was impossible to beat out the 20 other people trying to kill the same goblin I just looted one their corpses when they were killing each other off and got my 4 axes that way. |

First off let me say.As soon as i can play darkfall i will be playing darkfall but i can't help at laugh at what is going on.Just a day ago i was reading threads by rabid darkfall fanboys about how awful aoc and war launch was and how smooth darkfall and its client are.The official forums are down, the game keeps shutting down, people who are playing are taking advantage of glitches, the company not being ready for the amount players that are playing and more.So far Darkfall is making Aoc and War launch look great. On the bright side alot of probelms are being cause by the sheer volume of people wanting to play the game. |

LoL, this is comming from a guy thats pissed that his 2 friends can't take over a spot w/ bugged mobs. It would be the same if the mobs weren't bugged. They would control the area, and you would die if they wanted you dead. |

Exactly. I forgot the numbers, but i know it's around 5-10k to get a city going. Not very expensive at all. It's not an "exploit" to know where available clanstones are and how to build them. If you read the stuf people in beta were sayin when the NDA was lifted, you'd be privy to all of that info too. 2500 gold for clan charter 10k for clan shard http://www.speedtest.net/result/1775656162.png |

soo reading all the posts here it leaves me with 3 things on my mind.
1) DFO failed baddly at launch many VERY important bugs are not fixed prier to launch. 2) a vast majority of the community are cheaters/bug abusers (crappy game play) 3) im glad i didnt pay to alpha/beta test this game. (yes DFO is alpha/beta reason being the major bugs are there which should be fixed in a alpha/beta server run... not a live launch..)
what does this all mean for me and DFO.... im going to shelf any ideas of playing it like i have WoW. i dont feel like P2Ping for a beta client i have enough betas i can play for free... no point paying to test a game.. and as great as dfo sounds on paper .. it seems the launch of that vision is sorely lacking... If they don't deal with exploiting right away this game will be finished just like AoC is. I ran a guild of 450 in Conan and worked with devs to get exploiters and hackers banned. They took a soft approach and because of that people simply gave up on the game and quit. They couldn;t stop the 3rd party hacks and various loot exploits. Any exploiting can't be tolirated in these type of PVP games or its doomed to fail when the server population gets sick of it and the lack of action from the devs. |

It was a sad day, The sync issues were a HUGE problem with people griefing in the newb areas and getting desynced so it was nearly impossible to hit them. Many MOB camps had sync issues and invisible mobs so it was impossible to complete even simple kill quests Tons of very tough MOBs were bugged out and were like Pinatas, guilds would stand around a camp and just bash the non responsive monsters down and loot up to quickly earn the 10,000+ gold needed to buy a city plot. By 4:00pm this afternoon even with all the downtime, all the choice cities on the outer continents were bought. It was common for guilds to farm dozens of suits of armor and weapons, the guild I ran into had only 10 people online and were making 5000+ gold an hour and had filled up on spare bags, shields, bows, armor, they even found Teleportation runes, Chest keys,etc... It sucks that the economy is going to start out this way but I doubt that Adventurine is going to do anything considering all the other problems and delays the players had to go through. I hope the major kinks can get worked out over the next few weeks and maybe then we can get fresh clean no exploit servers for the NA launch.

We reported literally hundreds of bugged mobs, exploitable mobs, they drop keys to chests that have magical weapons and armor in them and huge amounts of gold that you can farm non-stop.
Aventurine did nothing about the bugs, even after being told plain and simple it was a game destroying issue to have these bugs go into the live release game.
It's a damn shame that they released the game in this state, after being told about all the exploits.
Of course beta players are going to exploit them straight away - as will everyone once they find out which mobs are bugged and where the chests are. It willd estroy the economy and make a complete farce out of the full loot aspect of the game.
Severely dissappointed about this entire issue. |

Killing invisible mobs was not the problem, it was a certain couple spawns of Earth elementals that weren't moving or fighting back that several guilds farmed to acheive the 10k needed to claim a city. My guild has had a presence of at least 20 people on all day and we have barely amassed 5k on top of the 2k for the guild charter. The sync issues were so bad we couldn't even kill trolls. I can say that Sync issues were a problem in beta, there were always problems with syncing after new patches and the fact that they dropped 2 patches on us with only 6 hours of testing between them two days before the so-called release is just sad. However despite these issues, I think the game will be massively fun and today did nothing for me except quickly teach me to use my surroundings and the sounds the enemies made against them. Fighting invisible enemies was probably the most fun I have had in an MMO... ever. Lastly I just want to say that I fucking hope Av spends my damn money soon and gets some more people and a test live server. |

Getting a clan city in a completely legit way is easy, even with the 10k change, in one day. The sync issues is what made it unfair, because some people DIDN"T HAVE THEM. So they were able to continually farm money.
However, when you claim a city, it's not even close to a city. it's a stone, that's it.
You have to build the bank, the houses, the keep, the walls, the towers, smithy's, merchants, workbenches, etc.
How much does all that cost? Each building module is 250g 50w 50st To give you an idea, some buildings take upwards of 100 modules. THe higher end ones take 1000. So yeah...they will take months. |
