Yes, true I suppose. But if you want to play it like an ordinary MMO and mostly hunt chances are you will have to cough up more than the usual 15 dollars a month. But the cash out idea is pretty neat.

Without looking up dates,  the greek period (sparta, athens, xerxes) was long before the Byzantine era which was latter Roman history.  Although the greeks at that time were not 1 nation, but a collection of city states (so technically, not Greece as such).  Of course, we could complicate things like macedonia (alexader the great).... Is Macedonia the country for Alexander, or did they steal their country's name in order to get the street Cred.  When I was in Greece, they said he's actually from the Greek side......

The Byzantine Empire != Greece

You need to slow down for a moment and think about what you're saying. You're so busy trying to insult people that you're linking to Wikipedia, and in the very article you are using to support your own insults, it states that you are wrong.

An empire is not a country, and you can't interchange them and expect people to follow you. Byzantine was much larger than Greece, and Greece is a lot older than the Byzantine Empire (and still exists today, for that matter).

On a different note, why are you so intent on insulting people? It doesn't accomplish anything, and when you're wrong, you just look even dumber. Please, grow up and let's have a civil discussion.

I would normally agree with this, except for one thing.

There are plenty of indy devs out there making mmos, doing the best they can with what they have to work with. Rubies of Eventide and Minions of Mirth are just two examples. In fact I have a lot more respect for the MoM devs since there were only two of them to make the entire game.

The difference between an indy dev who deserves credit for trying to survive in a land of "big boy" mmos and Aventurine is this:

Aventurine ( Tasos ) said their game would be better than any other game out there. The minute Tasos started running his mouth, Aventurine started playing with the "big boys", because that's where Tasos put them. So if they can't stand up to the "big boys" after running their mouths for 8 friggin' years, that's too bad. But they don't deserve any sympathy for it.

Yes it was a power, but look back at what we were talking about: "Of course, thats must be why it was the cradle of western civilization." The Byzantine empire did very little to contribute to western civilization, aside from being a footnote as having its capitol burned during the crusades. When studying western civilization, it's more relevant to follow what happened in the areas previously controlled by the western empire.
