Suck on this vaporware trolls.
Hi, We’ve opened up account management for those who want to cancel their pre-order. You can cancel your pre-order by going to preorders and clicking the cancelation button.
There has been an issue with some people who have received an email message that their pre-order was successful but they show a zero charge and a 0 balance. This happened because of the time-outs or because of multiple ordering attempt. We will treat most of these cases as successful pre-orders and provided the credit card transaction for the purchase is successful, they will be able to purchase the game. If you belong to this group and you want to cancel your pre-order, all you need to do is remove your credit card information from the account management page and you will not be charged. There’s a link that allows you to do this where your credit card information is stored. For those of you not able to create an account, we’ll leave the account management on so that you may do so. We’ll open up sales tomorrow Feb. 25 evening European time. We’re doing our best to make this a smoother experience but again the large volume we’ve been experiencing has been difficult to catch up with. We'd like to thank you for your patience so far. The game servers will also open up sometime in the evening. We’ll keep you updated throughout the day tomorrow. Thank you for reading. |

So they plan on opening it up in the evening? What are they planning on doing? Hit the switch on the way out the door, and hope everything works?
Then, while they are sitting down at the pub celebrating, they see all these firetrucks rushing by and wonder where they could be headed.

When more people than the estimated numbers showed interest in WoW, what did Blizzard do? Sell as many copies as possible, and then have their servers crash every 10 minutes for the first few weeks because they couldn't handle the load.
What did Aventurine do? They limited the number of copies that people could buy so they wouldn't sell more copies than their servers could handle. They opted for their fan's playing experience over making more money.

Its kind of sad that the vapor trolls are left with nothing to say really. For years they got their rocks off saying this game was a basement scam using Gmod. Now all they can hope for is "this game will fail, cause that's the last excuse I've got left!" |

It does, but I meant morning for Americans. It launches in the evening for Europeans. |

But again, fail, fail away. No one ever said Darkfall would get 11 million subscriptions. If they get 300K subscribers to stick with it for years, they are a success. "Success" is not how many subscribers you get, "Success" is how much fun people have playing your game and how loyal they stay to your company. But may I reiterate? Fail again... |

After seeing multiple beta reviews after the NDA was lifted, I honestly believe the hype for this game has toned down, and after a couple of months of launch, I believe it will do so even more. I had high hopes for this game and even though I believe you have to try it before you can pass fair judgement, I'd honestly wait for a trial before I spent my hard earned money on this game. And BTW, just because Adventurine says they ran out of pre-orders doesn't mean they sold every single one. They've been known to tell a few fibs in the past, anyway I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow. Can't wait for some post-launch reviews of the game. |

For me, WoW did not crash every 10 minutes for the first few weeks. It was more like once a day with a couple of 12 hour maintenance cycles (in addition to the normal tuesday ones). Lag spikes were more the issue. As one who played at release, I encountered very few problems with the early WoW. Anyways, I would not call Aventurine's handling of this ordering process professional. Just reading folks' queries you can tell there are tons of mis-orders and the simple fact that people don't know if they are in the pre-order or not. Hell, half the posters can't tell the difference between the account creation process and the pre-order process. That is not the players' fault, it is squarely AV's fault (they should be more clear with a better online handling system). With WoW, you, at the very least, had your box and pretty much everyone knew if the account was live or not. Billing was NEVER a problem for Blizzard. I can appreciate Aventurine's idea of a staggered release. That idea is very smart. The implementation of such has been very much less than "professional." |

The way I see it, your all idiots. What none of you get is hello kitty will come up from behind and destroy darkfall. That's what the most likely outcome really is.

ROFL omg you really crack me up!! Thank you for bringing more entertainment into my life *runs to grab popcorn* Oh and the whole "i think im 1337 so i call everything fail emo gamer" thing only works on those who get offended. try harder as for Tacos (tasos for those who praise him) can say ANYTHING he wants...his words do not decide the future for the game. And yes subscribers do matter because they generate money, which goes to AV to make sure they get to keep their little office running to keep the game going. And you kinda failed on one part. for the next while they cant have 300k since the server load only handles 10k, but im sure your gonna tell me they will upgrade that sometime soon. :P have a nice day |

Agreed. Their handling of the entire pre-order process was definitely not professional. They don't even have any solid info on the main page of their site, minus a release schedule link to the forum. These guys have absolutely no idea what they are doing when it comes to marketing, and ultimately that could make or break a game. Doesn't really even matter if the game was pure gold, which I'm already thinking it's not, if you don't know how to market it, no one will play it. |
