as far as i can tell theres only 2 types of trolls.

1) The children / adults that think whatever they like in there preferred choice in entertainment is what EVERYONE should like. They  often say useless things like "zomg this game is teh suxors" or "joo noobs likz diz grphix! LAWLAWLAWLS!" or some other ridculus type of closeminded statements. Instead of posting some creative and usefull open minded opinions they attack others for NOT LIKEING WHAT THEY LIKE. "ZOMGS WHERES MEH POPCORN DIS IS GUNNA BE GOOD LOLOLOL"......... and what not.

2) Now heres the interesting troll..... the undercover trolls, that nobody talks about. Im talking about the trolls that actually work for companies like Funcom, SOE, Blizzard. They act like troll number 1). but there motives are diffrent. They create diffrent forum accounts pretending to be diffrent people, attacking others for showing an intrest in a game. They say things like "ZOMGS DIS GAMES IZ FAILS" or "WHAT NOOBS GUNNA PLAY DIZ POOPZ". Cause statically less then 10% MMORPG players will pay for more then 1 gamer subscription at any given time. And after a while people will get board of playing a said game and move on to another game, so you employees out there that want your games out there to NOT lose your subscriptions and money, troll away discouraging people, attacking people in hopes to keep them from trying out a said game. In reality, who REALLY cares what games people play, as long as you are having a good time playing YOUR game.

It makes me wonder..... how many no# 2's we have out there polluting these forums.

You forgot the 3rd type . . . people like yourself.  This topic was hardly needed in an already littered area of garbage.  Next time why not post your brilliance in a topic that is already fuming with "troll" definitions.

I'd recommend that, when talking about trolls, but also about fanbois, don't put examples like the ones you use, because that kind of troll or fanboi is the most obvious and the shortest lived. And not too abundant really.

I'd add a 3rd type to that...  the kind that has felt they were lied to and/or feel they were promised a product that they do not see in the game right now.  I think of all the trolls, they have the most right to be upset.

I really don't fall under any of them, I hope Darkfall releases, but I have no desire to play it (I don't like the combat style myself).  I also hope it does well as we need a progressive game to do well or we will be doomed to 3-4 more years of EQ clones (which will probably end my desire to play MMOs to be honest).

Lets add a 4th while we are at it, all the fanbois who won't listen to honest and real critism of a game and retort with the now famed expression, 'gtfo and go back to WoW'

Is it ok to be a tad....pesimistic....sceptical....suspicouse of any and all new mmp's on the horizion that will be released unfinished and unable to break the "Lets copy WOW  and see if anyone notices trend"

Maybe one day a company will have the nad's to break away from the pack and come out with a fresh and origional game.

I"ve seen a lot of posts that accuse someone of working for another company and stuff like that, but never seen any proof any company is paying people to troll on forums.

LOL, This guys stupid thats not what a troll is. A troll is a monster that lives under bridges and asks for a toll when you cross the bridge, if you refuse to pay the troll toll, you are not allowed to cross the bridge.
