I don't want to see any company fail only because of the jobs that will be lost, but isn't it about time the rose colored glasses some of you have stuck to your noses and the plugs you have stuffed in your ears came out?

AoC tanked hard and I agree with whoever said it's primarily the fault of the project manager and lead designers that this happened.  The first thing the project manager does when setting up a project is talk to his leads and establish a realistic timeline, then they present that to the suits.

FC can probably turn the game around to probably a similar level of AO (especially after Darkfall releases and PvPers are disappointed again-my prediction), but I don't see the game becoming anything of what it could have been if the devs had just LISTENED, and not just to the players they wanted to hear from.  You can't have that in game design.  You need good strong communication across the board, good strong marketing (not just nice T&A for the hormone crowd), and good strong management.  FC failed in all 3 areas, in my opinion and as a result of the marketing failure they attracted a very shallow community.  Not the entire community but a good portion of it definitely was. 

AO and AoC.  That's two strikes for them and mass disappointment for the MMO community.

It would be if the loss had anything to do with financing. It doesn't. Their product didn't live up to their expectations. How is that the CFO's fault? It wasn't a huge loss either. It might seem like a lot of money to you and me but it wasn't  relative to the company's finances.

Are you joking?  :)  One job of a Financial Officer is to keep on top of a companies financial situation.  They most generally report directly to the Board of Directors and warn when there's financial problems, oddities, etc... I'd say the road to losing 33.8 million should have raised a red flag or two.  Now you can think losing that amount over a year is fine for FC, but I'm thinking their Board just didn't agree with you and thus we see the results.

I think the propaganda you'll find on these boards has been 'xfire shows huge jump in subs' ' huge population increase after merges', 'now is the best time to resub, patch X solved everything'

Everyone else will either carry on playing it or leave when something new comes out,or rejoin when they get a new PC that can run it properly to bask in the awesome gfx and sound.

To wish bad things on people doesnt do anyone any good does it,just grow up and move on to a different game instead of wasting ur lives getting ulcers trolling these forums.

I thought I suggested you go play Darkfall instead of wasting your life trolling here? Your credibility is pretty much zero. What difference does all your negative biased research mean when people are in a guild that continues to increase in numbers and don't have any of the issues you continue to point out and are actually having fun? Just think about it, with all of the trolling you continue to do here you could already have helped Darkfall as a beta tester resolve all of the bugs they are encountering.

You're right. So I wish AoC just as much success as AO enjoys right now. And the more those sub numbers drop, the closer to the greatness of AO they get.
