Oh its so cute when you guys pick little things apart and just plain old make things up to make yourself feel better about how well Darkfall is doing.

For years and years and years I've listened to this website bash on Darkfall. "The game doesn't exist" "I looked it up on google earth, the office address is fake!" "That video was made with Gmod!" "You people are all getting duped! I'm just trying to save you!"

Then August rolls around, we get a nice 17 minute video "It was all scripted and fake, none of that stuff is really in the game" "This is so bogus, Age of Conan had nice movies too".

Then beta rolls around "I don't know anyone in beta, it must be fake" "Game doesn't exist, they just made this announcement to string people along, those monsters." "How come there are no leaks? If the game was real, people would be leaking."

Then the leaks started popping up "Ok well... ok the game is real but... its going to suck! Yeah yeah that's the argument I'm going with now! This game is going to tank harder than any game in the history of forever!" "Yeah, you guys are losers for following this game, look at those Doom graphics lolz" "Psh, this game is going to suck so bad, no one is going to touch it." "There's no way this game is launching with all the stuff they've promised."

Now here we are, present day. What do we have? We have so many people trying to buy the game that its CRASHING THE WEB SERVER. Aventurine has announced they're getting 20x the number of connections per second than they estimated and they're trying to deal with it now but upping their systems AGAIN.
Overwhelming majority of reviews say the game is great, could use a tiny bit of tweaking and balancing, but all the systems are there. Aiming arrows and spells, advanced AI, sieging, ship combat, twitch melee system, all the features they promised (with the exception of roaming mobs) are there, and people are scrambling to buy the game.

And here you sit, many of you former vapor trolls, trying to find anything and everything you can to bring the game down, just so you don't feel like a total moron. What happened to rooting for the underdog? 30 people in Greece delivered game with more depth, soul, and uniqeuness than any release in the past 4 years (except for EVE).
Let's look at Vanguard, a game which I loved. At launch, 8/10 quests were bugged, servers were plagued with horrible lag, client crashed and blue screened almost every hour, almost every major system from quest encounters to ships were broken, grouping bugs, bugs EVERYWHERE.
Age of Conan, launched with maybe 1/20 of its major features intact and lacked any content past level 20. The performance was fairly bad, and each zone got instanced if more than 50 people entered it. You couldn't even go back to noob zones if you were a high enogh levels. Dev response "Why would you want to?"
Now we have Darkfall, virtually every complaint that got brought up in beta was addressed within 2 days. What they're working on now, is a better rogue flagging system and a bit of the skill progression so that things are more worth it earlier on. They've already overhauled magic twice and done a fantastic job. World was too empty? Virtually every camp has been turned on now, people were whining cause they had them turned off to test the AI nodes, now I haven't seen an empty one in 2 weeks.
The game could use a little touch ups, but its rock stable, and all the features are there. But some people just loooove to make mountains out of mole hills.

The game is real, so you lost that battle, no matter how many times you tried to ressurrect it. I think my favorite moment was when you guys said "The DDOS was faked to give them more time!" The reason I was laughing my ass off during that is because the day of the DDOS I got my beta invite.

My personal opinion is that over 70% of these Darkfall crazed maniacs are playing it because it's a full-loot PvP sandbox. When another full-loot PvP sandbox rolls around they're going to at least consider jumping ship. Stop trying to make this game out as the next coming of Christ.

You already posted this, so ill just re post my post in response to your post for this post.

Just because a game is released, does not mean its good, complete, or as advertised.

They will never let it go man.  After being proven wrong time and time again, they just move on to the next thing and will not respond to any questions about how they thought the game would never release or whatever the flavor of the month troll was.

They are having a troll meeting right now, i think the next thing that makes DF a joke is the kind of breakfast the art director eats on mondays and fridays.  Clearly that is reason why this game will fail.

i got nothing to apologize for, i played the game, i thought it was amateurish at best, and will not survive when the next set of ffa sandboxes come out....alot of broken mechanics, boring gameplay and horrid community, yup all there, still not apologizing.

You are touting that as POSITIVE thing?

These are the same people that will be trying to manage thoustands of persistant connections simultaniously... on a client that has NEVER been stress tested.

Oh sure, release might be soon, but so with the epic implosion of the servers be.

I've never played a FFA full loot MMO. I was raised up on Dark Age of Camelot (best PvP game to date).

I recognize quality when I see it. There hasn't been any quality or soul in MMOs for years. I'm playing Darkfall because the devs are passionate, and aren't listening to WoW kids and compromising the quality of their game in the process.

One must have quality, to compromise it.

lol, now thats a pipe dream. Most of them have been holding on hoping and praying DFO would be vaporware for so long the only thing that could redeem them in there own eyes now is if DFO failed. So for the next few years you can expect to see them claiming each time the server goes down for a patch that it's shutting down for good. Each time mantinace rolls around they will be there hollering the sky is falling.

They are sadly part of the community, which I have come to accept. I have also recently come to understand why they call the DFO community horrible, it is because they consider themselves part of it. Why else would they not move on?  This is there home, they won't be leaving. They have dedicated to much of there life to there blind faith. Its funny but at the same time sad. Just learn to pitty them, and accept that they are probably here to stay.

That was the magical AI that cures cancer.

And the removal of about 50% of the advertised features. Hows that housing or boat combat?

I don't see why the vaporware supposed trolls would have to appologize.

The game lacks more than half of the promised features, and is full of exploits.

If you wonder why I don't answer your posts, it's most likely because you are on my ignore/block list. I recommend its use to everyone here - it helps you stay sane, avoid trolls, and by not answering to the troll's bait posts, avoid problems.

Wow.. for one thing there was NOT "many" thousands in beta, period.

For another, you are obviously some dumb teenager who has no idea about how IT works and what a stress test really is, so dignifying THAT post with a technical response is pointless.... wallow in your ignorance.

Housing makes up 50% of the features? Your right Player housing seems to be a no go right now. But I really think they had more than 2 features. And boat combat, lol I really hope you realise that that IS in lol.

So far the only thing I  have noticed missing is player housing.

So? You're in the 30%, you've been a fanbot for as long as I've known you. Good for you. I still bet some of the DF fanbots will migrate to Earthrise or Mortal Online when they come out, as long as, like you said, those companies don't compromise their game by listening to "WoW kiddies". And I don't think they will.

Yeah I'm looking forward to Earthrise, Masthead looks promising so far. Don't be so enraptured by DF because it's a mediocre sandbox that you miss something better (just a fair warning !)

lol, both are in game. Shows how much the trolls know? If you want to bash a game, at least get your facts straight.

Boats are a heavy heavy investment, I think about 4 clans managed to start churning out boats in beta. I hadn't seen one until 2 days ago when a landing party of red dwarves and maharim landed on the shore of a mob camp and absolutely destroyed me. It was a magical moment.

Housing, is in clan cities, as the devs said it would be.

Wrong.

The game has the vast majority of its promised features, although you can argue that some of them need balancing for sure.

Full of exploits?  hardly...you havent been in the beta.

And yes those who littered this forum in every thread saying "lol vaporwarez" should at least acknowledge that they were wrong about berating the fans of the game for following it simply because they "knew" the game was a scam and the fans were "idiots if they thought it would be released"

oh how quickly the trolls forget....

There was a really long period of time where everything Darkfall seemed to dry up and disappear and people called it vapour.  Deservedly, I thought.  After it made a more significant re-appearance a few months or so ago, most people stopped calling it that.  Maybe a few wouldn't let go.  What are you gonna do?  It's the internet.  People say mean/bad/wrong things every minute of every day on the internet.  A lot of people looked at the screenshots and especially the videos with the terrible character animations and started complaining about that sort of thing the way Aventurine ran the company, etc.  They got called vapour trolls even though the words scam or vapour never appeared in their posts or were even implied.  I don't understand this whole apology thing.  You shouldn't let people hurt your feelings with their discussions over games on a gaming board, even when they try and make it personal.  I mean, really... who cares?  It's not like they know you or anything.

There's always so much drama around here.  I think that's why I keep coming around!  My real life is SO not dramatic!
