Many of you may be wondering why I put up EQ2 up there because some dont see it in a disaster per say...but EQ was legendary, its sequel was supposed to be everything EQ was and plus more, it wasnt and went up against the behemoth world of warcraft, EQ2 may have a nice player base but I Still think in more ways then one you can say it was a disaster.

Since Hellgate London only lasted about 14 months before servers and forum closed permanently I think that's a clear winner. 8 months after release Flagship Studios stopped subscriptions when it became clear they were going bankrupt.

Darkfall hasn't been released yet to even be included in this vote. As for the rest they still exist with a low playerbase. Hellgate does not. But hey let the ignoramuses vote as they please. Or should i say trolls

I don't know what drugs you are smoking, but Darkfall's launch is being done amazingly well.  They are an Indie company putting out a world class game and all of their advertising is viral.  They were expecting a niche following but are getting slammed with a high demand because the MMORPG community is starving for a quality product.

Darkfall is here to stay, you should try it out.

To all the ass hats here giving me the run around saying I dont know this i dont know that, You are obviously new to the mmorpg scene, I have been around mmos for a long time now, I seen them come and seen them go, Darkfall is no different.

Though, many won't agree with me, I think Lord of the Rings Online should be up there.  Moreso than EQ2.  Having said that, I don't think  that LoTRO, EQ2 or any other MMO disaster can compare to Dark and Light.  DnL had a big budget, a budget probably around what Darkfall has but it's flop was so bad that it didn't even get out of the water far enough to flop.

Even Mourning, which was a flop in itself, pales in comparison because it's budget was much lower than DnL.

But, back to LoTRO.  The reason why I'm saying it's a huge flop is because it's essentially based off the biggest fantasy IP (especially after the blockbuster movies), was meant to be mainstream/casual but has yet to add new servers, announce milestones, etc.   I mean, you can say, hey look it got the game of the year award and it's company the company of the year award, but the problem with that is you're taking your poll sampling from one particular source. 

LoTRO isn't a failure by any means, it's managed to release an expansion, and seems to be thriving pretty well.  But, when looking at it from the perspective that it was targeted at the mainstream/casual gamers but ended up being niche, it obviously flopping bigtime.

A flop is relative to what you are comparing it to.  Dark and Light flops on so many levels but then you could look at it from the perspective that unlike UO2, Wish, Dragon Clans (I think that was the name of it) or a plethora of projects that had long development cycles but were cancelled, Dark and Light actually was launched.

I did not put up WAR or LOTRO for the simple reason they were just trying to another WoW clone, easy simplistic nothing new, so I just didnt add them, they were not trying to go for something different, the games I put up tried to go for something different and hyped it and failed.

no...i dont think the option is retarded. the reason failed MMOs are still around is because those devs are having a hard time letting them go. DF will be the same way. it will be more dead AND worse than lets say SWG, but i am sure AV and tacos will be calling it a huge hit.

THere is no trial at all for darkfall, its a small indie based company, like dark and lights company, its getting very mixed reviews like dark and light, and most of the things i was expecting to be in darkfall were taken out, like dark and light.

So why am i supposed to give 40$ upfront to a no name company with out even trying the game first?

Since people are still playing those games they are far from dead. If they are worth playing or low populated is irrelevant. I'm willing to bet they still make money. I'll gladly explain how a low populated game can still create an income if that confuses you. Hellgate London does not have an online option anymore making that a clear winner.

Only very small few people still play those games, most of gamers that play them are very old players to the game and developed friend ships with others and made a small community inviting friends. Just cause the game is still being played does not mean the game isnt a epic failure. Hell even some people played Sims online for a long time

I think much of Darkfalls success will depend on if the developers stick to their guns and fix the game or cave in to carebear demands once the game goes live. They will have a flood of the carebear/I didn't pay for this crowd unleashing bear fury on them to make changes like adding quests and "safe" triggers and threatening to cancel subscriptions. If they stick to keeping the primary focus on pvp elements the game should do ok.

With further thought, this poll is null and void due to the fact that it presents, and has votes for based upon predictions when this is obviously a 'snapshot of now' due to faulty options.  Darkfall, by being an option and voted upon, ultimately makes this poll erronous.

This is empirical truth.   I don't feel like getting in a debate about this, but if anyone is foolish enough to debate me on this, I'm warning you that you'll end up looking like a fool. =/

So far in beta, I have had some of the most fun that I have ever had in a video game. 

I'm in a clan and we are at war with a few different clans.  When your at War with someone you don't take alignment hits for killing them.  Well I get attacked and eventually killed by a number of people.  They take all of my gear.  I have some other guildies nearby and we track em down and kill them and take back my gear....IT WAS SUCH AN ADRENALINE RUSH.  I've been in a few large, 50 plus people battles/sieges and they are great fun.  Last night we raided a hamlet and it was only defended by 10 guys.  They see our first bunch of scouts cross the bridge, but then realize we have four groups of 10 or so, very well organized.

What I'm saying, with the risk, comes the reward.  This game will reward you.

I wish they would of focus more on the sandbox this game was supposed to be than JUST a pvp game.
