It doesnt matter at this point. If he had given a 100 page disertation on each and every point the fantrolls would still say he was just making it up. If people by now havent gotten the point they never will get it. Many believe only what they wish and no amount of logic will change it. I was a big fan of the game before beta although I wouldnt trust Tasos on a bet. Its not the game they have advertised and AV has shown itself unreliable, incompetent, and unethical if thats not enough then nothing will ever be so. Those polls on the DF forums are about as scientific as alchemy and just as helpful. Hell pre-order if you like, send them donations if you want, its your cash. Me Im sticking with Eve at least they are somewhat honest and that in the end matters more than anything a fantroll or Tasos writes. |

oh wow you were in beta....GREAT for u except no one gives a sh*t. I sure as hell wouldnt be proud to say that i was in a beta for a pos MMO that wont get too far. as for the poll 95% of a not too big group of testers is gonna play the game...whoo f'ing hoo lol. im sorry but DF will just be another flash in the pan lol.

I am not going to get into depth in this thread, but the OP seems young, unintelligent, and inarticulate. Yes, there are some issues with DFO, however, in 3 weeks or so of beta testing I had 2-3 client crashes (playing all day mind you), and the models/animations are not horrible. They are average. However, the terrain is second-to-none. My wife believes the terrain in DFO looks as good as the terrain did in AoC. The graphics optimization is the best I've ever seen, hands down. There were testers with ancient hardware running insane FPS (100+) across a damn ocean. Also, their network optimization is the best I've seen. This game is in far better shape than most release MMOs. That said, I personally wanted it delayed longer so it was perfect for release. First off I am in beta... I will send you a movie or maybe some SS tonight, if I get the time to play it again a bit ;) I don't know why you are calling me unintelligent, or a child... all I said was that some fundamentials are broken within the game and thats mainly the controls and the animations. I told you already before for people who dont care about graphics or controls and just want the UO feeling back DF is really worth it. The game itselve has many good points too, the AI, the freedom, heck its UO again! From that point i would really like to love it. But I just dont understand why they want to release it now so fast... controls are such a basic thing, which can be tweaked quite easily... why let a game hit the market and be distracted by miserable controls... so many people will just throw the game aways by that... it could attract so many more people just by fixing those issues... Don't tell me OMG go away controls can be get used to and fixed later etc. ! SURE they can, but why the hell not making them perfect from the beginning? Its the first thing every player does... he enteres the game and wants to move around... if that feels bad, many are already giving up - sure you may say now... OH no prob we dont need them, but why so mad? Good controls can be expected or not in these days - why not make the game appeal to more players who may not have a problem with the freedom, but maybe just with the basics? That's your opinion. Most of what you dislike, I actually find cool about the game. It's supposed to be hard and tricky to learn. Yes it can use polish, but they need finances to do that which they've run out of. The game rocks atm, and can only get better. |

You do realize that you beta-tested it on 2 days (I didn't say for 2 days, because I don't believe you really beta-tested it for 2 consecutive days). As you may see, I didn't say play. No one has played it yet, they've been beta-testing an unreleased product. It's not easy to get used to new games controls or world, it takes time. The longer you've played one game the better you get used to it and easier it feels. And harder it is to get used to different kind of system and wolrd. I'm sure DF is quite choppy and needs to be improved in many areas, but are you sure you're not throwing it out of the window too soon?

Speaking from a neutrul point of view...i'm reading just as many posts from people that trolled the game saying that they now think the game has a chance! thani am from fans of the game saying its not what they thought.. So each side who are still shouting one way or the other are looking a bit foolish...if i'm honest :) best bet is to either try it yourself and make up your own mind...or button up and move on to the next game. |

If this thread is any indication of how the community of this game will be, that's reason enough for me to stay away. I understand that this is a PvP "hardcore" (hehe) game, but to result to childish angst while commenting on a thread is rather, well, childish. I think I'm going to stick to games with a more mature community. |
