I guess this is all going to happen on the 24th of Feb huh
They should just skip the pre-order this all bullshit. They know exactly how mnay players they can handle. This business of using pre-order to determin demand wa bullshit.. it doesnt matter what ther demand is they know what they can handledand what they cant handle.. if you think they are going to be running around upgradeding and installing hardware in the next 6 days due to any preorders so the game can hold more people.... you are smoking crack. I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass... and Im all out of bubble gum |

Yeah, once again they have run out of time. I am expecting another delay message. I tried playing Real Life but the graphics sucked, the community was annoying too. |

For christ sake what kind of major media pre-reviews do you all expect. This is not your mainstream Age of Conan and Warhammer Online with tons of pre-paid pages in every gaming magazine. REALITY CHECK |

He's only stating facts, its just pathetic to retaliate in an angry fashion when these are actual facts.
I want Darkfall to succeed as much as anyone, but its getting close to release again, and just like before everyone has been left out completely in the dark. |

Not to nit-pick but it's 8 days until release.

The owner of the noob comic has been gone on vacation untill today. Since they have been using him as a vessel of information I always assumed that once he returned they would start giving out more information, which would mean we get something today or tomorrow.
Barring that, I agree its getting very close to the date, obviously there will be no game reviews untill the game is actually out, by which time there will be plenty, and I actually like that. It means that most ppl will await the launch and see how it goes, while people like me will have an easier time getting into the initial release.
But if we dont get any info today or tomorrow we might as well assume they will delay again, which is not uncommon in the MMO world.
I wasnt here at the time, but from what I understand the last delay was announced ON THE DAY of the release?
So most likely another delay will be announced in the same way.
Well that is certainly not the correct way to treat ur playerbase, but at the end of the day this is about the game not their ability to manage marketing. Another delay only means a better release after all.

This all lack of information causes one thing -> that lot's of people talk about it on forums. Even a negative advertisment is an advertisment. And this isn't even that negative. This is actually the best thing they can do given the little budget for marketing they have. REALITY CHECK |

At this point, if Aventurine says anything publicly before the 25th, I'd put my money on another delay announcement. It's the only thing that makes any practical sense. I'll be amazed if they actually release the game next week. Ah well. There's only 8 days until the 25th. Either something comes down the pipeline in the next couple of days outlining pre-orders, system specs, and everything else, or AV is just going to wait until the last possible second before announcing that the game is being pushed back. Even the natives over at the official forums are getting restless and pissed off over the lack of info, so I would hope that Aventurine has enough sense to give some kind of info out in the coming days. Worst case scenario? They cancel the game due to lack of funds. However, I don't see that happening at all. I think it will eventually see the light of day. When it sees the light of day, on the other hand, is open for debate.

Actually on a market scale forums represent around 10% of a consumer base usually. That is a small fraction compared to what they should be targeting for an MMO. While people will throw out 300K sign ups, the actual interest seems much smaller then that with the boards never even breaking 10K (3%). The whole negative press is still press argument fails when you do not have massive amounts of target consumers. Potential customer are being turned off and AV will have to work twice as hard after release to try and grow that segment back (at considerable cost). The game has potential, but it could be the actual company that kills its chances for success. -Atziluth- - Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity. |

Forget specs and pre orders. There hasn't been an open beta, heck there hasn't been a second wave of invites for close beta (going by the news at the website). And still a little over a week till release? Delayed and delayed by at least 2 months (though I'd lay money on longer) would be my guess. Also with the development time and the fact that this game is every DF fanboy's silver bullet MMO some publication would have mentioned it by now. |

Originally posted by Paragus1 The NDA should have been lifted on Jan. 22nd, along with an open beta client for players. That would have gone a long way towards easing the undercurrent of hostility I'm seeing over at the official DF forums. People there are getting tired of a lack of information. They're tired of having to get everything second hand from beta leaks and YouTube videos. And with the release date supposedly 8 days away, not having any information on pre-orders, limited release copies, etc. is starting to become a problem. If Aventurine had any PR worth a damn they'd be on those boards calming the players with real information. Instead, they're as secretive as ever. |

No the last delay was anounced I believe 1 week before the 22nd of jan. Not on the day, that would be kind of ridiculous.
As for this, I do remember tasos saying in some interview that he would drop the NDA in time for people to make a judgement about the game before buying it. If we look at a time table of how things work in real life, you have to subtract 2-3 days for pre orders to actually download the game before the 25th. This leads us with the latest a pre order would go up by 23rd Feb. Add onto this him dropping the NDA and letting people have look at the game and see if they actually want to pre order it. This should be minimum 2 days, which is still extremley short. So by the 21st Feb I would say would be the LATEST they could go without dropping the NDA and not delaying the game.
As for you saying delays are common in mmo. Sure they are, but people around here want more straight forward answers from the devs and not more lies. Once again tasos said in an interview a week ago that the delays being mentioned again are just rumors. We will see if he was once again too scared to tell us the truth or if in fact they will release the game. If he would just be straight forward with the game development and tell everyone the state of the game, no one would care about another delay. At this point I think a lot of people would be angry if it gets delayed again with tasos just saying more lies.
On a side note, beta leaks do not count as giving us a look and judgement about the game before pre orders. As per all the beta testers the debug mode is still in place which is also not a good sign 7 days before release. |

Trust me, I want it lifted as much as you do. I have a very lengthy preview ready to be published, I just need my hands untied. I have it on good authority that this will be very soon though. You will have to trust me. |
