Sure. I'd play it, but the reason I don't play WoW is not because I dislike Blizzard. Blizzard is and always has been a great developer. I just don't like the Warcraft IP and setting. I think the lore is half-assed, with too many holes and missing pieces. And the storyline is the major reason why I play games. Wether that is developer created, or created by the players in a sandbox. Storyline is key for me, and I just don't like WoW's story.
But I'm sure I'll try out their new MMO just like I tried WoW. =) |

I do believe deep down you are labouring under the misconception that people do not like WoW (not liking Blizzard is a bit of a red herring) because they have a hidden agenda, and not because they just didn't like it. |

If anyone made my dream MMO i would play it...unless they maybe caused mass genocide to fund it or some other horrific act. Otherwise i would play it! hell if the OP made my dream MMO i would pay £40.00 a month to him for it. |

It might be a misconception - which is in part why I've created this poll. I think i'm trying to get into the mindset of some of the posters on here who vehemently air their hatred for WoW and Blizzard, and try and gauge just how deep that bitterness goes. I can fully understand why people are against the practises of SOE and the like, as they are blatantly immoral. Blizzard in comparison seem like a pretty reputable outfit. Yet people still moan that they pander to the masses, are corporate sell-outs, or are going the way of SOE with their supposed RMT practices (paid character changes). I have to admit it is quite heartening to see that majority of posters do have their heads screwed on and that the dislike toward WoW and Blizzard isn't completely irrational. However, there are still 5% (at this time) who would never play a Blizzard game again. It is this minority I'm most interested in. What has Blizz done to them to make them feel that way. |

While I may not agree with the direction Blizzard has driven MMORPG's, I have nothing bad to say about the quality of their products. Blizzard has always been a top notch company in terms of product quality and customer support. Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do. |

I enjoyed WoW for a good amount of time before totally burning out on it. I can honestly say I'm disappointed in Blizzard for failing to properly reinvest in continuing development and some of the design decisions as the game evolved, but I have no ill will towards them. Now, SOE has done enough over the years to sort of poison me against them. A great new title from them would have some hurrdles to overcome before I'd give it a chance, but if they produced such a title and it was still generate positive feedback and maintaining good populations after six months, I'd be willing to give it a shot.

Originally posted by Zayne3145 I have never felt any hatred towards WoW, in fact if it wasn't so large I would be totally indifferent to it. I do believe that it is naive to believe popularity is a good measure of quality, but that is not a reflection on Blizzard or WoW, just a very common social group construct. Being told you should like something, when you don't, just because a lot of other people do, can get very wearing. Which is probably behind a lot of the aggression towards WoW. There are also those people who seriously think it is stifling variety and those that just hate anything large and popular. You focus would appear to be the last group which I am sure does exist, although in smaller numbers than those just tired of hearing about WoW and how big it is. |

I doubt if Blizzard can make my dream MMO. Reason is that I'm more into Asian style then European style MMOs. But if Blizzard would be able to make my dream MMO, I think I'd play it. It's not Blizzard that I hate, but the general audience that WoW attracts (no offence). |

You are right, for example, i will not touch SOE games, regardless if its my dream game or not. they do bad business and ive been "screwed" by them more than once... so i am on a SOE boycott. |
