I see this phrase as being on some kind of crest that is burned into the cover of the troll handbook of one liners. ~~ Darkfall Recap of everything that has happened the last 3 months: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/213296 "The monsters are tough. Since there is no open beta yet, that means a 5 year delay. Does that not strike you suspicious? I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time. |

What's really hilarious is I've thrown the "sooper quote" in Imbants' face more than once, and he pretends it doesn't exist. We provide proof, and he chooses to ignore it. yet he can't provide proof of his claim that the game was reworked. And then he calls us trolls.
huh?? ok lets take a look at this. Ur saying that there is a quote in THAT interview claiming that no changes where made. ok. Its a Claus quote u say ? Do u mean this: Claus Grovdal: It was a much different game when we were a small team making it. The resources made available to us made the project a lot more ambitious. Everything is bigger and better now, and there's a lot more of it. Basically saying there where lots of changes ?
Ah wait this must be it: Claus Grovdal: The long development time hasn't affected the game much. It has, however, significantly reinforced some of our main design decisions and reaffirmed our belief that we're going in the right direction with Darkfall. Main design decision... like the engine?
Ok lets imagine thats not it, lets imagine u are right and there where no major design changes. This interview is from 2005, its 4 years old, and in it they state they are about to release the game. But it took them 4 years ?? Why did they wait so long i wonder. Lets see what they said recently.
Tasos in 2008: In order to deliver all that we've had to develop proprietary technology from scratch. We also had to develop a company from scratch and everything associated with running a long game development cycle. We've done this independently.
So according to YOU, between the interview in 2005, where they had made no changes, and the one in 2008 they must have made proprietary technology from scratch.
OH SNAP, did facts just disprove ur own point?? selfowned....beautiful.

suspicious of what? Are they trying to conquer the world ?
Or did unforseen issues force them to delay? Which is more likely...

Exactly what part of that tells you that the redid the engine completely? This like like saying they scrapped DF in 2003 and started from scratch again and then somehow they were ready for beta testing less than a year later. No. What that tells me ( and anyone without blinders ) is that they developed dev tools to make created and placing items easier. Nothing more. And seeing at how inept they seem to be a AV I doubt they created the tools or the engine either. Matter of fact the engine looks alot like one of those anyone can buy for a few hundred dollars ( Ugh.. Drawing a blank on the specific name right now ). |

Funny, since now they just keep removing shit now, isn't it?

It has, however, significantly reinforced some of our main design decisions and reaffirmed our belief that we're going in the right direction with Darkfall. Main design decision... like the engine? So it made him think he was right in his main design decisions. That again means no change, since he is happy with what they did originally.

He's talking about everything from the beginning of development until now. Darkfall has it's own engine from the beginning ( or so they've always claimed ), instead of using a pre-built one. That again, is not changing anything.
OH SNAP, did facts just disprove ur own point?? Oh SNAP, do you realize how you've made yourself look now, when your own point to "disprove" me actually "disproved" yourself? selfowned....beautiful. You're right. It's beautiful that you helped me not only "own" you, but also show you have no grasp of the remedial english language, since you obviously can't read the stuff you yourself post as 'proof" of your point.

It's very simple, Darkstar. You come back with a direct quote from Claus or Tasos that the engine was rebuilt and game was completely reworked, or shut up. t's a very simple premise. I'm sure even you can understand it. |

Suspicious why they haven't released yet. Oh yeah... they reworked the engine.. they lost producers... their dog ate their code... their new code monkey had to graduate from college to continue coding where previous monkey left... Excuses excuses. You know, I like borrowing money from people like you because they are so gullible they believe any excuse for not giving them back their money.

We're looking forward to the clan beta test where we'll get the chance to play around with the various rulesets." I marked the green text because according to Claus, DF is basically ready - they are just balancing it out. rpgvault.ign.com/articles/671/671666p2.html That interview was taken on Nov 28, 2005.
