I really hope they go a different route than read a book/drink a serum and wait 5 days for one more dot of Protean. Maybe they could keep the timers if they also added a quest completion along with other in-game prerequisites that takes a good while to complete. That way at least I would feel like I'm doing something toward an end as opposed to ganking people/npcs just to pass the time. "Many nights, my friend... Many nights I've put a blade to your throat while you were sleeping. Glad I never killed you, Steve. You're alright..." |

I always hated needing to use a sword 5 million times on a dummy to grind a max skill. just feels like a macro grind to me. Imagine if Eve have a active skill gain system, it would be so tedious, looking for rats and players that could shot youto increase Shield and armor tank skills and taking only EM damage so you could build up that resistance. I would rather just play my way and grind Cash. Look at a game like Darkfall now there will be a million macroers skilling up to be uber it would be much better to train overtime. only complaint i have with Eve is the skills sometimes take too long to train. if I were CCP i would decrease all level V skills to be no more then 10 days long without learning skills added into the mix. I will make a prediction that WoD will win several awards including many Game of the Year awards. It would be nice to have a forum on this site so all of us WoD fans can discuss the upcoming game. Apparently tho, it may be quite a long time until we get one. at least at mmorpg.com |

The typical MMORPG grind tthat everybody is use to will not fit well with this game. Go kill 20 humans and loot 20.......um, blood samples......... Over and over and over again, not going to happen.

World of Darkness itself has a very thorough set of rules, with very thorough lore. The fact that CCP is creating it in conjunction with its creators, White Wolf, is a very promising fact. At this point, two years down the line with such an in-depth background already in place, I'd say it is safe to say it's more than just a concept. That said, I still think it will be a while until WoD is featured on the site. CCP has so far been very secretive with the project. |

Yes, they have been secretive. Game has been in production for at least 2 years so I say we can only guess where they stand in development. 1) They have been taking it slow which is not a horrible idea. or 2) They are way further ahead them some think. This is also not a horrible idea :) I tend to lean to option number two. Not because I cant wait for the game to come out but the fact they do not have several games in development and with the merge in 2006, the announcement of WoD was in fact thier "major" announcement pertaining to the merge. It wasnt, heya weve merged and a WoD could possibly be in the pipeline four or five years down the road. It was, We have merged and we are currently developing a World of Darkness mmorpg. Even stating that the economy will be player driven and other little tid bits of info. Development can take a very long time. Just would be interesting to get a ballpark figure of where they are at. |
