I worked in the public school system for about 5 years and this is not all that rare really.......While you dont often hear about the boy involved, there were a few girls at a couple schools where I worked that were pregnant.....I met one girl that was 15 and already had 2 kids........Often you dont hear as much because alot of the girls have abortions and it never reaches the point of having the baby........ Sad thing is that sex is too rampant in our society and the pressures on young kids to have sex is too great.....While they should know better you have to realize that sex is everywhere in their lives (movies, TV, internet, music videos, etc etc)........ Unfortunately this young man will ahve to grow up fast and give up alot of his childhood to be a father at such a young age. |

I don't trust The Sun either, but it seems to be a legitimate story and reported by other news media such as The Times and BBC news. He's what? Three years off the age of sexual consent? I think it used to be different for males and they even made further distinction between gay and straight males. It's all the same now, I believe. There are countries where the age of consent is even younger and in some South American countries, it's as young as 12 for girls. Being parents at what is considered a very young age in the US is just normal in some other countries. I would probably be considered weird for NOT having kids at my age in certain countries. I'm just glad that I decided on a kitty instead! The thing that's creeping me out, though, is that the boy looks almost exactly like my cousin when he was about seven or eight. Even the hair cut! Yikes! Also, to BobCrazyton- she just had a baby! Of course her boobs are big! My sister went form almost nothing to about that big when she had kids. |

I didn't believe this story either until I saw it covered by AP. That boy looks like he might be 5 years old, what the hell is anybody doing sleeping with him, or even thinking about it. He also doesn't know what financially means, which is scary. For the rest of you saying this is typical or normal... no it isn't. I myself knew better than this, and what financially meant, when I was 7 if not younger. I suspect that boy is actually the age he looks, not what they say. again, sorry, half of my keys including numbers and punctuations no longer work. ___________________ http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/12/13/ |

"Other stupid boys are lying, saying bad things, like they've slept with her too. But I'm the only boyfriend she has had. We've been together for two years so I must be the dad." "The Mirror has been given names of seven boys who have said they slept with Chantelle, of Eastbourne, East Sussex." Am.....am I a bad person for laughing at this? |

They had a kid a bit young but like a few of have said, its not a total disaster. My great grandparents had 28 children. They started with my Great Grandma being 15 and my Great Grandpa was 16. This was quite common 100 years ago apparently. They ran a ranch together at the age of 18 my Great Grandpa bought from 2 years work at a dairy and ran it tell they were in there 40's. By the time the ranch was sold they had at least 20 kids but Grandma had her last at 48. Perfect births. Eventually they settled in a new area. Lived to the ripe old age of 104 and 105. They saw hundreds of grand children. They especially loved there great, great, great, great, great grandchild. When you live that old you just see so much and they were both college educated and quite well off at retirement at there 60's. Ironically due to the fact were are so reliant on other people to tell us what to do and provide for us I fear such a outcome isnt possible for these kids. We dont have the cheap land. The parents teaching children to be self sufficient. Nor the moral and ethical systems in place for the large part to help these young parents. Its a shame because this doesnt have to turn into a disaster. |

The schools are epic fail too. You can just see the the girl turning into a fat-fake gold wearing-chain smoking- drug taking woman.

Meh seeing as how he can't provide financially and it's up to the parents I would say this is much bettter then the dumb ass adaults who have babies because they know the government will give them money. You know, the government who takes my tax money, and gives it to audults who get pregnant when they couldn't afford a baby without government aid. Those dumbasses. This kid actually is affecting each of you personally much less than the average concieving couple. Really though with no parents having the talk, sex education being offered for what 12th graders normally (not early enough) and movies about pregnant teenagers what do you expect? Young people get the message that it's not the end of the world if they have a kid and that it'll all work out. With shows like family guy and south park, the housewives and others they talk more freely about delicate topics and don't take marriage, conception, and rape seriously. You know what? When I left oklahoma their was an influx that doubled the size of my highschool *it was small* of texans, kanzans, and people from arkansas. It was normal for girls to say "oh I want to rape that guy Young people will allow movie previews alone to shape their opinions and thoughts about what is right and what is wrong and because their parents don't talk to them they never figure anything out except the hard way. TV has somewhat toned down lately thank goodness but meh it's sad young people aren't encouraged to talk to other audults besides the parents, who aren't even there, about important topics. Every parent is paranoid and so their children become exactly what they don't want their afraid of. Of course they don'to realize how hard it is to raise one, they've never been in that situation before. |

Because having a child at such an age practically guarantees the child will be born suffering from extreme mental handicaps.
