Originally posted by imbant Poor animations. ok Ill even give you the sounds part, they could be better. Both things i care very little about. As for the rest, rubbish. The interface is ok, the combat looks great, specially now that they fixed magic, the sieges arent "theme park", and the towers are not almighty and makes alot of sense.
-Darkstar For what I have been able to read and discuss here, it's obvious to me that siege is very Theme Park. And the towers absurd. Which leads me to think what you say about combat and interface might be wrong too. I mean rubbish.
Towers are only absurd to those people who want to stay in the starting towns and gank people. Sorry but you make no sense at all. |

What he's saying is that towers are rubbish if you want to stay around the starting towns and gank people. Give me a couple minutes to find a crayon and I'll draw you a picture. |

Indeed, it's quite rampant on this forum. Perhaps not stupidity though, just an utter ignorance. But then, you haven't played the game, so it's not your fault.
Don't need to play the game to know that turning away customers at launch because you can't afford the equipment or personnel to support them is a bad thing. I don't need to play the game to see that Darkfall servers are no more complicated than any server to set up and he's making nonsensical excuses for poor management again. I don't need to play the game to read the fear behind your condescension. Keep whistling past that graveyard. "Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice." ~Greys Law |

Well, from persoanl experience I can tell you the server is quite stable. They don't have the resources to add more servers yet, and even if they did, as he said, it's not that simple nor a fast process. Everyone seems to of been spoiled by the larger corporations, and now they all expect this level of perfection from smallyer companies trying to make a different game. It really disgusts me. |

No, this game has DnL written all over it. AoC may have been a fiasco, but DnL wasn't even a game. |

It takes a few hours to copy the files to the hard drives and test them. They're not required to go to the server farm and solder the motherboards together. Aventurine may be small but the company that's agreed to host their servers isn't. Unless of course that fell through as well. Not having the resources is the result of bad management. They knew they were going to launch they just didn't plan for it. "Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice." ~Greys Law |

God, looking at this thread makes me remember that, people never learn.... Dark and Light, Mourning>Age of Mourning, preorder scams to crappy unfinished games that promised everything and showed nothing... and in the end they sucked as much technically as entertainly.... boring bug ridden slug fests... |

Reading the interview and these threads reminded me of a quote by Penn and Teller. I think they were asked about this magician that calls himself "Mind freak". That's when he says slowly and methodically, "Magic on TV.... Brilliant!" If this keeps up I think Darkfall will have us paying them funds just for more interviews about interviews. lol |

Anyway why cant someone ask the tough questions to Tasos? This was a softball intertview. Everytime i read Taso's interviews he has never remined consistant for long. Adventurine really need to be more forthcoming, relaistic, and open about the state of thier game. Well let's be fair to MMORPG,how many tough interviews has the largest game given? WOW! they are the masters of remaining quiet, they do not want to answer anything, but instead just want your money. Aventurine is trying to run a small operation but many are expecting a SOE operation,it is not and will not happen.People are putting words into Tasos mouth and trying to make it sound like DF is trying to be the biggest game ever,it is not, they are not trying to compete with anyone on any level. Personally i think the game will be sort of weak, but oh well,it is geared for a small market, and i do not believe they have been misleading in any way,so let their niche crowd play it and enjoy it. Go watch the leaked videos, and all your questions will be answered, they show everything you need to see. http://www.youtube.com/user/Napolianboo#p/u/15/rCYLLQCNc1w |

I never played DnL but I sure ass hell preordered Age of Conan and Im not gonna piss any more money down the drain on hope that it is a good game. |

Not too difficult to grasp really.. It's just one disappointment replaced with another. People are disappointed in the lack of updates/info. Then, when the updates/info comes, they're disappointed in the contents of it. Think of all the similar situations a person can find themselves in, even completely unrelated to games... If you're awaiting final scores on a college entrance exam... are you going to be happy when the news is you failed and won't be accepted? Of course not. No different here... People were awaiting news/updates... and they're not happy with what those updates contained.
