MMORPG.com goes through phases of heavy moderation... then goes through phases of basically no moderation.

Looking back, they all revolved around titles that had THAT much hype surrounding it.  DnL comes to mind as a biggy... I remember posts getting deleted, not threads... I think that's the difference.

I feel one of the problems with the current moderation is that the team contains a Darkfall Fanatic who is in touch with Aventurine on some level.  Locking and Deleting threads at will to get on their better side.  I've emailed the admin about it, with no response... at least I used to get responses when I emailed.

Overall the sight's been downhill since Dana left.  Mr Wood has done a phenominal job making sure the news gets posted in a great, timely, manner, but he doesn't seem to have the community control skills Dana so elequently possessed.

People hijack threads here... express opinions as facts.   Its the moderation (lack of)  in my opinion.  I reported a post once and had my post deleted as a result.

So... been a member of mmorpg.com  for many years but I dont have 10,000 posts like many of these guys.   Some of these guys act like they are trying to break a posting record.  I'm with the OP.   I'm definately not th enthusiastic member I once was.

I watched my friend play the beta, then uninstall it around 2 hrs later.  The criticism is well deserved.

Mature discussion about MMO's is not possible on any forum. It's too much of a diverse genre with conflicting tastes and preferences. The only difference is how heavy the moderation is.

I love the drama on MMORPG.com, it's what keeps me coming back and entertains me during an otherwise dull day at work. It never ever fails to amuse.

There are many other site out there with a maturity level much higher than this one has fallen into.

I like how this is a troll thread, clearly you're just bashing the MMORPG.com community. Any website will have its share of nay-sayers to anything,  just because you (apparently) have an affinity for darkfall and don't like that other people don't like it doesn't mean that this site is just a flaming site. Also, only 13 posts and you're already talking garbage like this, like a true troll? They start early I guess

I think you are confused, Vaporware games are games that really exist, it is just that they exist in an less than ready to play state.   No one really knows what state Darkfall is in at the moment.  Rigorous control of information by the developer makes that impossible to decide.

Yes sometimes the maturity level is pretty bad, but it is no different anywhere else.  Best thing is to ignore those that don't have a lucid thought in their posts.

Oh and by the way many of the post by fans of Darkfall as just as bad if not worse than the detractors.  Some of their grandiose comments about a game written by a very small indie shop tend to raise the hackles of the rest of us that still can regard the game with some sanity.

I personally hope they can make Darkfall successful, but anyone that expects that to happen immediately is going to be very disappointed.
