The title says it all.... You can guess where I got this information from..... and a 10 second Google search should confirm my post. I was the biggest DF fanboi of them all..... back in 2005 I got my whole L2 clan signed up on the forums waiting for beta that was promised to be SOOON. Most of the DEV/website promised content isn’t in this “BETA”. Either its in and disabled and they aren’t planning on testing it or it simply doesn’t exist. On and On... When are they planning on testing or developing all this stuff? Its been 8 years and it looks like all they did in that time was World-Build. From what I have seen and the info from the Noob Comic stating that there are only about 1100 testers, Darkfall seems to be in some sort of Alpha-Beta testing stage and gearing up to do a PAID BETA

100% of the mmo's iv played since (and including) swg should have stayed in development for longer. |

link?
and yet 90% of testers have also said they would pre-order. conclusion: it's an awesome game that still has a number of rough edges. just like every MMO ever released? btw, almost all content has been enabled for some weeks now... a lot of it is on the web, you should try looking for it?

Rememebr when you could walk on a roof and fall through inside in UO????? Compare that to about 45% of DF at the moment. .. As I have said.. maybe its in there and disabled and they just aren’t planning on having it tested.. but that is just a fanbi fantasy world I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass... and Im all out of bubble gum |

I said it when I saw the first pathc notes after the "open" beta. It looked like they were in the middle of beta and not about to release. Of course fanbois laughed at my oppinion. Well, you got it now. I expect a decent game by december 2009. Probably / hopefully they will do in 1 year what they haven't done in 8. |

I did about a 2 minute search and did not find this poll. "Just because you aren't paying doesn't mean it's not PTW." - Amaranthar |

Really?
I know for a fact , Boats haven’t been tested, no one on the server has even seen siege gear, player housing hasnt been enabled, NPC hireling, and pets are out, race specific bonuses aren’t in yet. There are only like 5 types of armor in the game right now…… Should I continue? I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass... and Im all out of bubble gum |

is it perfect? of course not.
that said, it's less buggy and more stable than most of the recent big name MMO releases in the past 12 months.

yes please do. note: you said *most* features aren't in, which is a ludicrous statement. only a few things *aren't* enabled, like ranked magic staves, special/named mob spawns, racial specials.
boats have not been craftable cause noone has managed to build a harbour in their city yet.
everything else has been enabled and is even leaked on the web.

not saying everyone will like it - they won't.
if you a) like PVP and b) like sandbox games and c) are a competitive/decent gamer, chances are you'll love DF.

Actually there have been 2 accounts of guilds crafting boats, and 2 boats have been made in beta. |

If you are not a beta tester, you wont understand. The testers are loving the game, its more than just a world. However, many see these rabid haters who have no clue what they are talking about via forums. Its not hard to say "delay the game until we test all the features and squash the bugs." Essentially OP, you are turning a neutral poll into a means to be negative. This is a big undertaking by a small company, this is their first mmorpg. Did you know team fortress 2 was in development since 1998? Prey took over 10 years to develop? Games like WoW were in production long before it was announced. Just saying you cannot judge a game by how long it takes to ship what they feel is a finished product. Most mainstream games with bigger budgets and bigger teams take anywhere from 4-6 years to develop a mmorpg. The bigger and more complicated the game, the more it cost, the more time is needed. Games are better when they are delayed, rather than released early, which happens way too often with these big publishers. We can all agree it wasnt very smart of Aventurine to give a release date to begin with, like Blizzard they should keep it in TBA status. The haters calling it vaporware didnt help, and probably influenced Aventurine to give a release date when they shouldnt have. Either way, they have learned not to bother with the average gamer, because as many of you have shown them, you are not reasonable. People over the internet are just retards at times. Anyways, just dont judge the game till its released. Dont judge it because of its development time, that doesnt matter, especially when you look at the facts. Dont judge it because a developer is trying to do PR and did a bad job at it. Judge the game as a game for a game when its released. |
