I have been following Darkfall for a long time. I have seen people call it a myth, vaporware, if it does exist its in a guys dreams etc... Now that it is coming close to release and all these problems are coming to a rise after this insanely long production time and weird delays due to poor planning.

I just feel that for a game I have followed for the last 4 years I am kind of just not caring any more about it. Looking forward to next gen games and getting pumped for the coming releases and this one just doesn't seem to cut it as much as it would 2 or 3 years ago.

Am I way off base and need to get some more drugs to make me happy about it or are others feeling similarly?

Although I hope that some good comes from even if its only that Tasos never goes near another game development team. At least it shows what kind of game people really want, oh wait thats right Tasos decides what we want doesnt he.

I thought I might check it out when it was going to release in January, but now I'll just wait a few months for the reviews to come in after the NDA finally drops.

More drugs won't hurt.

Can't say I have ever been "hyped" enough to let any of it get to me.

So if it happens to release, I'll try it. If it doesn't, I won't feel like I have lost anything.

Guess you could say I am as interested as I ever was, or ever will be.

I didn't say I wouldn't try it in the future, but as I said I just don't have near the vigor as I had for it over the last 3 years of them "Supposedly" getting ready for beta's. Along with the Darkfall Releases in 05, 06, 07, o no its 08 I swear no a little push back into 09, wait not january its febuary. Etc...

Glad people are still hyped, but just because you don't care as much doesn't mean I am going to stop visiting mmorpg, and if by clicking the darkfall tab means something then o my I am interested in flyff or ragnarok or almost every mmo on this site which I am not. I get bored and like to read what people think of all games.

It looks like its still in a very early stage of beta. And they are still going to release it in 2 weeks. So yeah, I'm starting to lose interest. I don't feel like paying to betatest a game.

I think that MMORPG.com staff should IP ban him just to be on the safe side. You never know, he might decide to come back.

I agree with you OP. As the days turn into months and months into years (since first hearing about the game and its possibilities), I have gradually lost interest. After following AOC and WAR, I no longer expect any game to be great and only a disappointment in one way or another.

Since Darkfall will not be doing a US release at the same time, I will just wait. I expect lag from the US to be horrid and I really do not want to deal with that. So since I am pretty sure launch (when it comes) will be a nightmare and either the game will not be ready or will be incomplete, I will sit back and wait for the US launch (if and when it happens).

Your exactly correct in your way of thinking and  the feelings you're having are shared. We are craving a nex gen game not something that should had been released a long time ago.

Yeah i'm the same. I just read a bit about different games while im at work

If the alternative is a rushed release to cater to the whining crowd of people wanting it NOW i would rather have a company waiting while ironing out bugs. I am sick and tired of paying full price for product that is 60% finished and bug ridden. VG was a prime example of that.

You people are strange. You want a fast release but whine when the game is virtually unplayable. Guess what Einsteins. maybe you shouldn't have added so much preasure for a quicker release when the game fails to meet you rexpectations in terms of class balances and broken content.

Give them the time it takes to finish their product. Play something else while you wait. You are going to quit after the first month anyway when you realize you are sitting on a less than polished product.

If you want a fast release then don't come complaining about bugs on the forums later on

I couldn't imagine if I had come into this community more than a post here and there for any long amount of time, and could see why people would be jaded and lose interest.

It is probably the best thing for this game right now... for many players to lose interest and write it off.  It is so hyped it is being compared to games that have been released and polished in a live environment for many years.  A lot of really small beta games develop a strong cult following and as the game grows and evolves more and more players come into the community.  Right now everything is backwards.  If you write it off and lose interest then maybe 6 months down the road out of nowhere you will check back and it will be a solid live client with many updates.  Hype kills games for people.

Also this game should get delayed 1-3 months.  You will be upset with this happens..  If it doesn't then I suggest not playing for 1-3 months.

My Interest has increased ten fold recently, (And I can sit here laughing my socks off knowing what a bunch of i'll informed fools sit here)

Nice to see the doom and ghouloom crew are still all here doing a good full time trolling job.

As far as I can tell, the hpye mostly seems to be centered here, on MMORPG.com.  Even the IGN boards haven't been all that active about this game.  I don't think the odd behaviour on one gaming board, as popular as it might be, is going to have that much impact, will it?

hell i feel the same way as you and i havent been following it for nearly as long as you. for the love of god it just needs to come out so we can finally see if its good or its crap

Yeah, my interest is waning a bit, but I do agree, if its not ready it should not ship.

But I think Aventurine has run out of money and has no choice but to go live soon, or close the doors.
