The following are a set of personal beliefs this person holds dear. Guess what this person does for a living.

1. Protecting Prostitution. This person had opined that several federal laws against prostitution “are subject to several constitutional and policy objections. Prostitution, as a consensual act between adults, is arguably within the zone of privacy protected by recent constitutional decisions.” In support of this proposition, this person cited only two cases involving contraception (Griswold and Eisenstadt) and one involving abortion (Roe). She further recommended that the federal laws against prostitution be repealed.

2. Protecting Bigamy: This person had opined that a law restricting the rights of bigamists “is of questionable constitutionality since it appears to encroach impermissibly upon private relationships.” This person offered only a weak “Cf.” cite to Griswold and Eisenstadt in support of this proposition. But the marital relationship that Griswold celebrates is plainly the traditional one-husband, one-wife version: marriage is “an intimate relation of husband and wife” and a “bilateral loyalty.” And Eisenstadt speaks of the “right of the individual, married or single,” not of the bigamist.

3.  Replace Mother's Day and Father's Day with a ‘Parent’s Day’ should be considered, as an observance more consistent with a policy of minimizing traditional sex-based differences in parental roles.”

4. Criticizing the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. According to this person: “The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, while ostensibly providing ‘separate but equal’ benefits to both sexes, perpetuate stereotyped sex roles to the extent that they carry out congressionally-mandated purposes.”

5. Urging Co-Ed Prisons. This one may be my favorite, as it starkly illustrates how far removed this person was from the real world: “Sex-segregated adult or juvenile institutions are obviously separate and in a variety of ways, unequal.… If the grand design of such institutions is to prepare inmates for return to the community as persons equipped to benefit from and contribute to civil society, then perpetuation of single-sex institutions should be rejected.”

6. Reducing the Age of Consent to 12. this person had recommended legislative changes that would reduce the age of consent for statutory rape under federal law from 16 to 12.

7. Requiring Taxpayer Funding of Abortion. This person strongly criticized the Court’s ruling that taxpayers are not constitutionally required to subsidize non-therapeutic abortions.

Justification is an event. Sanctification is a process.

No...not the President of the United States. Close though. This person works in the same city and probably has more power than him.

Give you a hint. It's a woman and she got this position during the Clinton Administration (I probably said too much)

I have only read this far sooo, I was going to say Ron Paul but now Ruth Ginsberg.

Now I'll see if I am right.

I have to dissagree she is the most powerful. She is solid on the left for judges. The one who swings back and forth would be the most powerful.

Not to mention a massive relief for the guys who just want to serve their time? Not that the tradeoff is necessarily worth it of course.

What really struck me wrong was the comment about the BSA/GSA. Both of them are private organizations, heavily based upon Christian principles, as private organizations they have every right to play out the roles and rules they currently embody without government interferance. I would on the other hand absolutely love to see a more modern, and more neutral organization come to take a similar place and function in the world. I see way too many people these days without even a minor hint when it comes to survival, first aid, teamwork, or leadership, all of which are just a part of what those groups teach, principles which quite literally save lives.

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

There are 2 kinds of people in the world: those who don't like dragons and those who enjoy living.

I have to say, co-ed prisons are a terrible idea.  The others make sense though.  Not entirely sure about bigamy, but then, why would it matter?  Marriage as a legal document is kind of silly because it has no legal basis in the first place anyways....sometimes I wonder why it even entered the legal field.

My blog is a continuing story of what MMO's should be like.
