Due to the lately confirms about the number of subsrcibers, for some a good number and for others a bad number. And another layoffs at Mythic, one could start wondering about for how long WAR actually can survive!?
Is it close to a final "death" or will it entertain the fans for many years ahead?

Of course its going to survive... I would say successful for many years ahead, but not with "millions"... You are clearly missing some middle of the road options... |

I think it's on a knife edge ATM and the next report will be when we can really tell how the games life span will play out, if that report still shows a steady drop off in subs the game will in deep trouble and will need to take some drastic measures to save it from closeing down. |

It will always be a niche game. The problem is that EA has a sordid history of closing down niche games. That company is never happy with just making a small profit. |

The way you phrase your post and questions suggest you dont weant a serious discussion but more a confirmation that WAR will fail. If you think WAR will fail, perhaps you should postulate your reasons that WAR will die yet games like Hellgate: London, Matrix, SWG, UO and DAOC continue to live |

Because WAR is nowhere near what DAoC was/is. Many people have gone back to DAoC from trying out WAR. And ahem *cough* EA *cough* |

neller the only thing ive seen from u when i started reading these forums is all negative. Don't you have something better to do then complain about a game that you don't like anyway? U keep calling it garbage and keep posting alot on the topic. i have the feeling that you actually like the game... diddn't mean that last thing sarcastic im actually enjoying the game
My view on the topic, if EA doesn't close it down and keeps it runing with the upcoming anticipated Slayer and Choppa class (wich most seem to like) it probply will turn for the better only thing to change then as i seem to understand endgame needs to change abit. Wich is doable. |

Of course you'll only find negative from me. I did after all PLAY the game. Or did you think everyone who quit, the 550.000 and counting were going to stay quiet and hype the game to the skies like it was prior to launch and still is by Mythic and rampant fanbois? And yes, I know that there are non-fanbois who actually enjoy the game still. But for most it did not even remotely live up to expectations. |

WoW has seen the same numbers quit when TBC turned into a Bore as WOTLK is now without content But ofc there numbers are bigger. MMO's upgrade in given time. so Give it time. |

WAR has had the most successful launch of any premier MMO and has more content in it within the first 4 months of being released as any MMO. As soon as the endgame gets tweaked to a balanced point and choppas and slayers come out more people are going to play. The recent layoffs there are a normal transition from pre launch to post launch. The release was flawless. There is an actual released endgame when the game came out. They are pumping out new content like madmen. They have a terrific combat system that is multifaceted instead of just having bland talent trees. The gear looks awesome, the graphics are great, and the PVP/RVR is a lot of fun.

I've played UO, EQ, SWG, EQ2, CoH, CoV, Anarchy OnLine, EVE, LoTR, WoW and WAR. None of which I play currently. Out of all those put on a list, WAR is at the bottom when it comes to resubscribing. The difference in general quality, content and replayability is huge. If I HAD to resubscribe to one, it would be either LoTR or WoW. Possibly EVE for a change of scenery from pure fantasy world. In reality I have my sights set on RE5. As far as WAR comes, you could give me a free month and I would not even log in. Oh and almost forgot, WoW kept gaining subscribers and still is, WAR subscribers are dropping like flies. I believe EVE and LoTR also are slowly gaining more. |

i must have missed the part where wow lost over half of their players in a few short months. I guess all those press releases where they announce new milestones are false then, huh? |

you think alot of people are still playing with the current lack of content. evrything now is done in all ways by mostly evryone because it has no chalange. i can only imagine that people either quit or not play for the time being until Ulduar releases. Yes those number increase right away when ulduar does release but im not sure when that is do you? |

They just opened up more servers again. WAR has only closed and merged servers since launch. WoW isn't losing subscribers, where in the world did you get that idea? And what lack of content? Compared to WAR there's a whole lifetimes worth of stuff to do in WoW. You may not have liked it but it's not exactly lack of content that makes people quit WoW when they do. It certainly wasn't my reasons for quitting either. |

Funny how come they gained another 500k recently or are you trying to say a public trading company is lying? |

It was the plan from the start to merge servers. If they had had the appropriate amount of people roll on a server on day one to sustain a full T3/4 war then the servers would have crashed every 10 mins. |

My bet is he has NEVER said it was the plan to merge servers prior to the troubles they're in now. He would have looked stupid if he did. |
