Several of those items refer to "holiday quarter".....are you sure that is not actually 4th qtr figures? I can't see how they are saying holiday quarter sales for July thru September.
*edit* I see it says fiscal third quarter which I see is indeed the months of Oct-Dec. |

That is also NA and EU accounts combined. |

Hmmm, not exactly the 1 mill they wanted. I am playing it, but do realize it has a long way to go. Atm its like one giant capture the flag game with no meaning. |

300k is a lot, but I agree they could have retained more of the playerbase if they'd released a more polished product. Though that's the way of MMOs. |

Yes, 300k is a lot but that was over a month back. Nothing new, nothing exciting and no new content in all that time and nothing new planned either. Unless you count the "expansion" as something to draw people in with, yeah right. A more current accurate estimate is probably around 100-150k subscribers and still dropping. Again, the 300k was more than a month ago and subscribers have gone massively down since. No wonder now why most of all the servers feel dead. |

I would have guesstimated a number near 250K so this probably isn't that far off. Not a roaring success, but certainly enough perhaps to keep the doors open.

150-175k is a bit too much probably but I would not be surprised if it's between 200-300k now, a lot of discontent in the last month (on other forums at least ^^)and no real reason to believe the decline has stopped or even reversed especially with servers like REM etc proclaiming "death", there seems to be a new server every week. (on the Vnboards at least :))

yeah by no means is this game in trouble if they keep adding content after they finish the classes and hopefully with in the next year we see the cities...or at least some great end game content that is RvR but not as rare as City Sieges |

If I had said 500k yesterday people would have ripped my head off and said no way, it's more like 600-700k. I'm being realistic instead. With people constantly unsubscribing faster than new ones are coming in, do you honestly believe they only lost 100k over the last month? |

Overall pretty bad numbers and my feeling is the numbers are still slowly dropping and aren't been replaced, MJ said somewhere that the 250k mark was the magic number if war goes under that the game would be in dire straits |

That's another one of their problems. You see it as content. Many MMORPG players call all the plans fluff. 2 new classes with the amount they already have? A new dungeon when players didn't even barely try the ones already in? And no word on fixing the total LACK of PvP and endgame content except for maybe the 5 or so servers that can actually experience it? It's a watered down mix of every other MMORPG out there. They should have stuck to just being about PvP and not try to cater to the WoW PvE crowd. |

If he said that, then that would be the case of why no new content has been planned for months to come. EA probably already decreased their funding, since it's an absolute given they didn't go from 850k to 300k a month ago and not lose any since. Still betting the numbers are somewhere between 100-150k now. Think about this, the 300k was a week after Christmas. Do you think the tons of people who got WAR for Christmas stayed along with all the ones who were in from launch? Many if not most of them would most likely not have paid for after their free period was up and that ended about a week and a half ago. |

Been a few months and been waiting for it to come down in price but my usual stockists just dont want to lower the price. Yep, I was nearly going to try it...... then I realised.... it's GOA I'll wait till I can get a US copy for cheap or just get Dawn of War 2 and forget about WAR |

As a matter of fact: Warhammer was seriously discounted before and in the Christmas shopping period. It went up from top 100 on amazon to about top 30 in that December month. All new "subscribers" in their first month. Now these are dropping off as seen clearly by Xfire: http://www.xfire.com/games/who/Warhammer_Online_Age_of_Reckoning Again XFire showed the trend in the previous months - and showing a steady course in December (!), (because of those Christmas sales), but now it is heading again in the wrong direction like the last October month. So 300K at the end of december was equal... 20K Xfire, it now stands at about 16K Xfire, that should account for 240K accounts now. As long as War is not in a kind of "promotion" period on Xfire like EvE was a few weeks ago and Lotro is now, it is a good parameter, no matter what the non believers say about it. It also makes an end at those ridiculous posts of the fans who thought of 800 K active subs and 1.2 million units sold. As EA is a stock rated company with audited financial reports, the 300K at the end of December are certainly correct.
Let's say that they're at 240k at best then for a number but if we then look at the fact the only new "content" and the "expansion pack" they have planned to span out until what, June, is not exactly what people are going to be returning for. 2 new classes and another dungeon with noone to play it with. A few events here and there. Pretty moot and amazingly dull and a big factor in continuing losses. |

It just shows that Xfire was right all along the fanboi's can't really argue that what it's been showing over the last few months has been preety much bang on. |

Average numbers for an average game. I think that sums it up. The new expansion coming might boost some of the numbers but I doubt it will be anything to talk about. |

Wait...isn't this new dungeon sort of like Darkness Fall or w/e it's called?
If so...then it's not just gonna be an ordinary dungeon. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
