Well that depends on what "end game" ´means... Ive been playing LotrO for almost 2 years and still love the game and consider the "End game" being the best part" ;) If WoW = The Beatles |

So are you saying that LOTRO is a well fed hobbit? |

Well, if you're into roleplaying, LOTRO is definitely better than WoW in that aspect. You'll run into other roleplayers often enough, it's fun to rest a bit mid-questing and jerk around. Not that quests are boring, I also find them much better than in WoW, much more immersive. The combat is also better in my opinion, in WoW it's too fast for me but I like this game's pace just fine. Overall, I think you'll have a great time in this game, give it a shot. - Jacob Goodnight |

If you like the lord of the rings world then you should switch 'cause the two games isn't that different from each other. I would say just go with the lore you like best. |

In short answer, yes. I left WoW for LOTRO and never regretted it :)
Anyhow what I wanted to say is that I found PVE considerably harder than WoW.
Great Barrows which is 20ish dungeon/instance is not easy, expect to wipe even if you don't mess it up yourself.
Also some group quests are hard to do even with help from lvl 60s! Fine example is a quest in Evendim (level 40) where you got to protect an Ent (tree-giant) while you first kill adds that spawn. Then you gotta move down and kill the big tree that is disturbing the forest. But first you gotta kill its roots. When you do that then the tree is vulnerable to attack however another boss comes and attacks the tree giant. So to make it you have to: kill roots -> move to tree -> damage tree till next phase while protecting Ent from boss -> back to new roots+kill them -> back to tree - Repeat till tree + it's guard are dead. It took us 3 tries yesterday with actually myself (41 burg at the time), my gf (41 minstrel), a 40 guardian, a 52 champion, 60 hunter and a 60 captain ! for a level 40 quest ! and we wiped 2-3 times! Before someone jumps in and says noobs keep in mind that all the people 50+ had Rift items on them. The game is not as forgiving in PVE from what I saw so far (Great Barrows, Fornost)
..which is good :) |

lotro is a decent enough game but they do seam to have some problems with thier billing espeacially in europe . sometimes its not enough just to cancel your account on thier accounts page you also have to cancel through paypal ( if you use that option ) or you may find they keep charging you as they did me . also codemasters/turbine are very badly run so its nearly impossible to get that money back from them . if your thinking of playing . get a timecard . personally i dont trust them at all with my credit information anymore . |

I have been thinking about dropping in again and playing. I was part of the Beta but never bought a membership after it was over. I do love LoTRs though...

If you like the WOW style of gameplay, LotRO would be a great choice for you. Great community, interesting questions, very cool game world. But, if you are like me and looking for something besides level based, quest driven gaming with less emphasis on PVP then LoTRO isn't what you are after.

I find lotro a very enjoyable experience, but I do like PvE as has been said there is not alot (if anything) for a PvPer. If you enjoy the lore then you will enjoy this. |

So after three weeks of playing, I'd say absolutely yes. The game is growing on me, whereas in most games I start tiring out after 3 weeks anymore :( Back in EvE. Started with BatMUD. Main MMOs have been EvE and DAoC. |

Graphics: Lotro wins Immersion: Lotro wins Roleplaying: Lotro wins Character customization: Lotro wins PVE: Hard to say, both good PVP: Wow wins Unless you are a pvp fan and love to have the occasional unexpected pvp experience out in the open world, I'd say Lotro is your game. |
