Your title is misleading... 90% of the testers that took the poll will pre-order. What percentage of the total tester pool they make up is unknown.

The truth will not be known until pre-orders go into effect. Only then will Aventurine know how many are willing to spend their money before the game is released. We the community may never know the true numbers good or bad.

If I invited all my friends and relatives to a beta, I suspect I could get them to all pre-order as well.

After reading the Noobs latest post I'm more convinced than ever that she's just a shill saying what Tasos tells her to, and its all part of the orchestrated build up to try and convince folks to hand over their money.

Heck, the writing styles almost different and the focus of her report is much different than previous ones.

Yeah, she loves this game alright.

I probably will, if given entrance to the beta...As to the OP, meh...I like the fact that the percentage is so high, but I don't know, I don't care for the fact that it's through Aventurine's forums.  It reminds me vividly of Tasos' "beta-testers' opinions" post, he made months ago.

Although I feel that things are looking positive, I don't like the fact that everything "overly" positive, is still coming straight from Aventurine.  So far, the only leaks that are striking my fancy are those on other websites, with links to leaked videos.  I'm thoroughly sick of listening to Aventurine's biased banter.

To summarize my thoughts, the 9 out of 10 doesn't seem ridiculous to me; it's the fact that it's the Noob giving the information.  Call me crazy, but I love myself some outside information.

You could offer crap to a Darkfall fanboi and they would pre-order it.

Cognitive Dissonance is such a wonderful thing to see in practice.

90% of the few thousand they've let in isn't really all the high...

Also, if you look the poll definitely says 290 people voted yes.......if 290 is high for a preorder count for a pending MMO then WAR's, Lotro's, Aoc's, heck even Hellgate london's preorders must literally blow your mind!

Yes I've been on these forums long enough to have seen that statement many times >.<.

Anyways I rather be the judge of the game myself, instead of hear the fanatical proclamations of some random blogger no one really knows about.

In context of what the poll is about the only place you can conduct that poll, given all the current conditions, is on the beta forums done by actual beta testers.   The poll number actually satisfies some well known agreements about polls.  You only need a couple hundred people from a sampling to get an accurate enough view which would allow you to narrow down your margin of error below 10% or less.

Having said that we also don't know if the results might have been fudged by moderators/devs themselves.  However, that begins into the area of 'conspiracy theorists' and claims in that department have far far less credibility than claims that the polls are within a few percentage of being accurate of the group the sample comes from.

The best anyone can do who isn't in the CLOSED beta can do is wait until they are invited or wait until the game launches and get some honest reviews through that.  Or simply wait for a real trial.  Before then any claims that Darkfall is a crap from someone who isn't even in beta is pure crap itself.

Yahtzee is usually pretty much dead on the money with games, or I should say his taste in gaming and mine are similar so generally I agree with what he says.

I will wait to see what Yahtzee says about this jewel before I even thought of buying it lol...

Without even looking at content first, Yahtzee would bash it for being a Mumorpagah!! Although he gives some pretty funny criticism on most games, I tend not to agree with him most of the time, but just go along for the ride :D

I would say I myself agree with Yahtzee all of the time, aside from his conclusions.  I tend to only agree with him 60% of the time when it comes to buying a game.  His reasons for not buying a game aren't always enough for me to not fork out the money.
 

But anyways, having him review this would be a treat.  Hell, him giving his opinion on the current situation of this game would be a blast to read about.  I'm sure everyone would get their heads shoved in shit if he were to give his two cents.

I'd like to know how they came up with 90%. Tasos's friends and relatives got polled maybe?

Of course she is. The Noob is hosted by Aventurine on their servers, and she's friends with Tasos and the rest of the staff. Anyone who thinks her "reviews" of the game are objective and that she's not just shilling a party line is delusional. She's so far from objective it's impossible to take her posts seriously at all.

The REAL test for Darkfall will come should they release a true open beta -- free access to the beta client, no NDA, etc. Also, let the gaming media get their hands on the game and kick it around a bit. That's when the real picture of a game starts to emerge.

Also, I agree with those that would love to see Yahtzee review Darkfall. I doubt he'd do it, but it would still be fun if he did.
