It kinda of a toss up for me. So far i like the way champions looks in motion compared to DC also prefer the look of the game. DC though has well DC. Seems pretty cool to play alongside heroes i know and fight baddies i know. Also I watched video on some progression with DC and i like how you have points to place into different areas that make your character. Not to sure how progression is in Champions sure somthing similar just have not seen it. So what do you think vote and lets have some input.

Def. Champions Online. I remember playing the pen/paper years ago and having a blast. I like the idea behind picking your nemesis. Saw some really promising in-game demo's of it at Dragon*Con this past year so ya.. its got my hype |

I'm actually looking at the two and I think that Champions has a lot more to offer the genre than DC Universe. It may well be that DC sells better, simply because the DC Universe is far more known than the Champions Universe, but the Champions Universe was always going to be to translated to an MMO and make a good one at that. If there is anyone who knows how to do a super hero mmo, it's Cryptic. Pen and paper ftw. |

Champions, hands down. People are going to get into DC Universe and realize their sole job is to HELP the characters they've grown to love (Batman, Superman, etc)... making you a sidekick, not a Hero. When people start to realize that, it'll wear thin quickly... but I'd anticipate higher box sales for DCU then CO for 2 reasons: That and I'll guess that DCU will be F2P with Item Mall, because that's the way it's Dev/Pub want to push their money model... whereas Champions will more likely be P2P. - CaesarsGhost Lead Gameplay and Gameworld Designer for a yet unnamed MMO Title. |

I say Champions. First, because I don't like the idea that DC is trying to go Marvel on it's superheroes and put them all into one "universe". I know they've done it before, but in my opinion it's just retarded. Second, because I've seen gameplay footage of DC (hasn't everyone?) and I realy don't like the animations nor the combat system. I hope champions will be better. |

Champions definitely. I've looked very closely at DC Universe and it just seems to me that once the "OOO.. IT'S BATMAN!!!" wears off the game will offer little else and will get old fast. I also agree with the poster above that DC is basically "Sidekicks online" and not really a superhero MMO. DC will probably have more initial box sales due to brand recognition but I think Champions will have a lot higher retention of subscribers in the long haul.

DC Universe by far. Another reason is the IP. I mean seriously, Champions? Why Champions? I never heard of champions before this game was announced. It's apparently some pnp game. It's too bad Cryptic couldn't stay with the Marvel IP instead. If I want to play an mmorpg that is build on American comic book heroes, I want to play with or against comic book heroes and villains, not some pnp thing. About the one who said players will turn out to be sidekicks, I doubt that will happen. Superheroes often work together in comic books without one being a sidekick. |

DC By far. Champion's looks like a crappy cartoon. and not in any sorta good way. Honestly if people are going to keep trying cellshadeing they need to Try and make it not suck first... Plus the gameplay just sounds better in DC than anything ive seen in Champ... I'll probably give both a shot, although at the moment i'm more inclined towards Champions solely because the team behind it have a lot of experience in what is a niche genre . I played CoX for a good while and it really was a tight ,playable game with a fantastic mythos - actually i kinda wish they were doing CoH 2 to be honest. DCU online doe's look very nice though ,in terms of visuals - guess we'll just have to wait it out. Played: WoW, Lotro, AoC, Eve, CoX. |

I've been thinking about this lately myself.. I suspect Champions will ultimatley be the better title. I say this because of it's Pen & Paper roots and Cryptic's actually done this before. That being said I'm pulling for DC Universe because I'd like to see established mainstream characters. In addition to that it looks a hell of allot better and frankly Champions looks horrible graphically. I mean really Jet Set Radio cell shading in 2009 please.. You need to bring it on every level kids.. Dutchess Zarraa Voltayre |

Champions looks like a CoH2, which is not a good thing at all for me. The SOE haters say that SOE ruined all their other games so they'll ruin DCU too but Cryptic ruined CoH just as bad. I'll give Champions a try down the road but it will be at the least 6 months so I can see what direction Cryptic is taking with their screw ups. |

DC for me. I think I'd rather be Batman's sidekick than Statesman's, er, ah, I mean Defender's sidekick. Also, I like the sound of the way DC gameplay will go. I played CoH for years and I really think that other than tweaks to the combat system, the mission systems and setup will be pretty much the same in Champions Online.
I really like the Champions PnP system, it was the best superhero game but those mechanics have nothing to do with way Champions Online will work. |

DCU + SOE = DCU will suck hard at launch like everything else they have ever published. |

As far as they "look" what I've seen of DCU looks better than what I've seen of Champions... and I've probably seen more of Champions. As far as how the game will be... that is a toss up and obviously a guess atm. SOE is not my favorite company right now. Cryptic.. well CoH had awesome character creation etc but I could never stick with the game long. So its a toss up for me to be honest... altho Chris Cao being on DCU makes it hard for me to believe it won't be epic fail.. Then again I suppose anything can happen. |

DC online is trying for the quasi realistic look like a few games have tried. It just doesn't pull enough together to not break imersion when something unrealitic looking enters the screen. I'm sure there is a comic industry term for how the models look, but I'm just not that big a fan of their unnatural look. This game reminds me more of a coin-op arcade game than an mmo.
Champions looks like it is straight out of a comic. Not a huge fan of this either, but I can instantly relate to it and it doesn't break the feel of the game as long as the play turns out ok. I could get comfortable playing cell shade as someone else called it. |

From what, little, I've seen of Champions- and DC Universe Online I'd say that DC Universe seems more promising. But I can't really say I'm leaning very much towards either due to lack of information. I also want to avoid getting hyped up about any of them. |

I was a long time player of CoH/V (on and off again) and really enjoyed the game when I played. Champions looks great so far to me. I like the fact that you aren't locked into a paticuliar archetype and can pick powers outside of your "class". Also, I believe I read somewhere where the cell-shading is an option and could be turned off (not sure of this). From what I've seen of DC, it looks like crap to me, who wants to be a sidekick, when you could be a SUPERHERO. |

Wait isent one of the guys responsible for Hellgate London's faliure working for champions online? I read an article about that some where Im not 100% sure of it but I know that I read something along those lines, Anyways, If people from HG:L team are working on CO then I prob won't play that. And since Im not a big fan of comic books or Super heroes and stuff I prob wont play DC ether. To me they both look like Decent mmorpgs for their fan base community. |
