After over 6 years in production nothing is known about the game - that didnt come directly from Tasos or was reviewed and approved by Tasos. No independent journalist belonging to recognizable blog or website ever played the game (except mmo.italia ... that could as well be a pizza caffe in Napoli) The game was never featured on no festival. Simply nobody really seen the game - except few greek investors and 2-3 people that are good friends with Tasos and claim they played it.

Game was supposedly beta tested by players. And now even more suprising there is a joke "open beta" that is closed more tightly than a clam. And yet only beta leaks are 2-3 blog posts that are probably fake and 5 screenshots?

Just to illustrate this - you could see hours of leaked videos from any other MMO in closed beta. Isnt that suspicious?

And just think - they announced there will be PREORDERS , and that they will give a trial so the people can decide if the game is good before they preorder it. And than they pronounced NDA on TRIAL.

All in all Darkfall seems to be the best kept secret in history of gaming.

Wow, Thanks for that post!  I hope you didn't just sit there typing that whole thing up because you could of just copied and pasted what has been posted here before.

hmmmmm very interesting rant. ive seen countless posts like these since i started following this game in november 08. alot of people seem to know the truth about the game but never are able to produce tangible evidence. OP could be correct about them being embarassed and having to release a crap product basically and hope noone notices. however, its far to late for that and if thats the case, the greeks will get crucified.

I'm just beginning to think more on the economical side of things.

I used to believe there was no game, I know there is one now, I have the client on my desktop (not a beta tester).

I believe that they don't have the funds to support everyone, the pre-order thing will be some cash to set up extra servers, and pay whatever they need to pay. I really believe that's the reason Tasos shifted from no-pre orders to more pre-orders. He really should open the game up to all players for a few days, but I don't think they have the resources to do that even. So, I think the pre-orders will be an essential part of letting American players in.

We all have the same amount of information.  We all know that pre ordering is a risk with any MMORPG in the works.  Thank your for another warning, but I will actually let the product speak for itself rather than basing my views of an unreleased product on someone elses assumptions.  I know i'm a wild and crazy guy.  Unheard of.

You should prob go check out the leaks before you continue to make fools of yoursevles...

What the OP has said is a bit hard to justify when there have been multiple organizations invited into the Aventurine studios and given the chance to see development in progress or to actually play the game. Pretending not to see all the opinions offered by people who have played the game is not going to get anyone anywhere.

There is ALOT known about the game now thats comming from leakers after the latest batch.

You say they need to show the product to sell it?

I say it needs to be finished before they show it!

Im not a fanboi, but im starting to lean on the optimistic side of the Tasos "lies" - becouse i have found alot of reviews from leakers. And they are loving it (no not like another WoW monster, but like a good FFA PvP game that wont fail like DnL).

9/10 leaks (its more like 10/10 now) are very positive about the game. I WILL NOT be surprised on another delay thou, it can very well happen if Aventurine feels its not ready at 25th.

 I am glad to be assured by someone who has no idea what they are talking about about the capabiltiy of the servers as well as the state of the game. I am also glad you used an analogy about buying and unseen or tested graphic s card when there is plenty to see of DFO as well as plenty of thigns written up on it by sources you decide are not legitimate.  I find it so very sad how all of you who likely won'y get into any of the closed portions of testing find every reason in the world to write up self righteous crap to feel better (i guess) about the fact that you "think" you know anything about something you admitt not knowing anything about, that has plenty of information out about it. The problem is you have no trust... for no other reaso nthan you are upset you can't be part of it. THAT is the simple truth of darkfall... it makes whiners whine and players play.

For me, I wont be buying this game.  Even if I was considering it, I would never buy it on PO.  Having said all that, and this is no way a flame or me trying to start a negative discussion, but I honestly dont believe the game even exists.

Most of the screen shots and video leaks that I've found on this game have the settings set incredibly low (DX7). The videos are relatvly new, so why would they have to greatly reduce the settings to something that looks like it's to be played on Windows 95? Isn't the game supposed to be launching in a matter of weeks?

 I will say competative players generally put their settings al lthe way down and maybe they didn't change that while making videos of it. ALso, the game doesn't have to be stable while videoing it or likely using third party software for screen shots.

To me the closest thing I can compare the graphics of screen shots I've seen would be The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind(DX8), which looked beautiful...back in 2002.

the possibility that the game is crap and the devs know it is very possible. But its improbable, because they've been acting this retarded since their announcement of the game 8 yrs ago.

yes they are small company. it is simple mathematics... 200 people can do their job in xxx time, 2000 can do it much faster .
