Last comment aside. I am not at all upset about a single thing Tasos declared/promised/guaranteed/said/proclaimed about Darkfall. I simply think they are going to rip the mmo world blind followed by claims of how much great stuff is yet to come because (insert excuse here) just so they can continue to rip the mmo world blind. I don't really care what the legion of fans calls me either, it isn't about them, they are sold, and will allow themselves to be ripped for months (starting with a pre-order I might add). As for everyone else, the newcomers that is, they deserve to hear both sides. Basically, I am treating Darkfall like SWG:NGE. Afterall, the only thing that started my inspection of Darkfall was a blitz of negative ratings, and a splash of Drakfall trolling in the SWG refugee forums here on mmorpg.com. So, you got my attention, now you can deal with my opinion of the "game."

They have invested more than you could ever understand, and at this point they are just hating to hate.  I seriously wonder what they are going to do with their free time once this game is released...  I believe for at least a week their lives will feel pretty hollow.

I think that was your 20th post! You are not aventurtine or tasos. So, from the way I see it, your preview of the game is about as good as anyone elses. The only difference is that you are buying the promises hook-line-sinker-and-worm. No one here (mmorpg) is pissed off as far as I know. We just refuse to find common ground with posters who haven't a minute experience with what they are advocating. If it's breaking the forum rules, report it. If it bothers you but it's legit, ignore.

If you can't take the criticism at a game (well in this case it's more about a company's development process and it's PR), there's a place where anything remotely negative is blocked right away, it's called Forumfall.

Fans of the game have a rational reason to care about negative press for the game. It may depress the eventual population and have real impact on their personal enjoyment when the game does released.

I'm having trouble seeing any rational reason for a hater to post frequently.

Then they should actually care about what Aventurine is doing and the run around BS they spouting.

They should also care about the lack of any press, be it good or bad, surrounding the game at this point.

No previews from independant sources

No gameplay vids that show actual gameplay (save for the same 7 vids they keep showing over and over and over...)

Bad press is better than no press at all.

Sadly the only press this game gets is vague press releases from 1 guy, which just happens to be the same press release that was posted a month ago, a month before that, 6 months before that one and 2 years before that.

That is funny. It seems that if you headed Aventurine it would lose more money than its already losing. And yes, it is losing money because with every lie, delay, etc.... more and more people and losing interest in the game.

Let me explain this and I will lose really little words so you will be sure to understand: Aventurine has made promises and promised the players that the game is ready, has been ready, is perfect, has all the promised features, would not announce a launch date unless its was a sure thing, failed to communicate with their fans well, and a whole lot more. All of this does not win over anyone.

Fans become subscribers; subscribers pay money to play; Aventurine needs this money to keep the game going. If you make the fans angry, they do not buy your game. With recent games promising the world (like Aventurine has done), and not delivering, the fans are more skeptical. That is money that Darkfall needs. By your logic, they should make people angry just because they can. That is not good business at all and if you think it is, you are an idiot. And to even suggest such a thing means you are no fan of Darkfall at all and you do not care about the game....which makes you the worst kind of troll or fanboi...one who only comes to these forums to anger others and inflate your own ego. Next time try harder. At least many of us who post here care about Darkfall and want it to do well, we just remain skeptical and grow even moreso with each passing day of the same ole crap from Aventurine.

I should calculate how much it costs.  Running a decent clan for Darkfall isnt necessarily cheap.  At least if you want ad-free forums, quality voice servers and the like.  I would not even try to calculate the time and effort spent on the web site, graphics, org, etc...  Bottom line, I am being charged to wait for the game.
