The folks at NetDevil have released a series of Jumpgate Evolution screenshots which depict Octavius space and the foes within.

A couple of those sure look like Artist renditions to me.

I don't think they are 'amazing'. They are ok. You can take better shots in EVE Online.

Eve is a spreadsheet in space, with auto targeting and snore cannons (The best of its kind mind you). This is a twitch based space MMO with low system requirements, in that regards; they have done an amazing job!

Do more with less. They have shown, at least visually, that the artists the use are masterful at older techniques in art asset creation.

Target system requirements:

OS: Windows 2000/XP/Vista
CPU: Intel Pentium® III 800 MHz or AMD Athlon 800 MHz
RAM: 512 MB+
Network: 56k modem or better Internet connection
Video: 32 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting
DirectX™ 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers

Please note these are subject to any changes.

The draw of JGE is certainly in the gameplay. The fact that an open space twitch game will have such stunning screens will definately grab enough pilots for some epic battles! I plan to be there!

I just hope the crafting system is better than the one they had in JG.

These look really nice.

Played the first Jumpgate early on, before the Star bases, and it was fun, surelly looking forward to Evolution.

Looks quite good, looking forward to this game. I just looked up some gameplay videos and they made me a fan.

I hope Netdevil & codemasters will have more luck with this game than they had with Auto Assault. I like how they want to move away from traditional mmorpg gameplay mechanics.

I think this game is going to be a sleeper in that it has recieved little publicity and it offers up enough different concepts from the old hack and slash that it has a chance to garner significant interest.

I wish them well.  There is plenty of room in this genre for a good sci-fi game.
