I downloaded the "14 day free trial" from the SWG website and it ended up being only like 2 megs, so I figured it would be similar to the Blizzard Updater for WoW. Once I'm logged in and click "try SWG," this comes up and reads like its trying to go thru my browser, but my ISP has info that comes up:

What would happen if people couldn't access SOE games?  Well they might just find themselves an MMO that works, run by a company that doesn't lie to them, and that's populated by a community that hasn't been divided and set at each others' throats.

I remember being upset when my Ford Escort was destroyed by a drunk in a parking lot.  Then the insurance money got me a new car that actually worked lol.  Turned out to be a great day in hindsight.  That Escort was a P.O.S..

yeah that looks like the station launcher which I have not got installed and I have no idea what all that is.   Try going to the station support forums for info there might be stickys.   The info i can see is for it accessing the account update page so you can enter you name etc and you have to have some kind of payment info on file.   So likely you can't get the pop up it needs to open the account.  Try loging into the station pass account manually and activating the trial that way.  I looks like you have an isp that is help happy so try turning that off and install IE 7.0 and see what happens, but all the info being shown is the info its requesting for best compatability to use the station account interface which is online.  If you do that manually its possible the launcher wont want to open that window.

Has it occured to anyone that some of us actually have played and are playing other games?  That we play because we like it in spite of what is said because we made up our own minds?  I think I have played most every title on the market at one time or another including WoW and EVE online.  I know that I closed the WoW account in less then 6 months due to sheer boredom and that EvE online was also so mind numingly borring that I lasted maybe the length of the free trial.   I have also played games that no one has heard off that in some ways beat SWG for complexity.  I continue to play SWG and other games as a result of the fact that I do actually like them and find them better then what others offer.

hrm last time I posted that I only post what I play you called me a liar. 

a) if i no longer play it i dont post on it

b) the games I play that are also on this site dont stir up near the amount of crud as on this site this is the one with heavy traffic. 

c) I'm not defending anything only hear do i get so insanely attacked for liking a game. Basically I am "rubbernecking" cause its just so incredible the attention played to like a handful of players

what I am currently playing

vanguard, eq2 and swg stopped playing recently secondlife due to lag , Atitd mention, Ryzom when they ended up in a problem.   So unfortunately for you or possible me I dont know how I should say this.  Right now and until I can find something that is not a total flop I am playing only sony games so.. guess what I am posting on a sony game.  The others if you look at this site get like no traffic.   so here I am "defending" myself against someone who has already stated he has not played the game in years (quit 2005 or something) who is hanging around to bash a company that he has no real interest in.  Heck you can't even give accurate commentary on present gameplay cause your are gone gone and gone. 

Just keep in mind when I did post on potbs forums here which died awhile back that my 10 posts you accused me of lying so I guess I can't win with you so I wont be trying.  Here is something that may shock you.   I am not playing "critic" I am playing gamer who is rubbernecking over the negative attention a title is getting over something that happened like 3 years agoish now.  That's the only reason I'm here.  To read the gossip and at times comment on it. 

re: criticisms they all boil down to "nge sucks" and Pre-cu was the awesomeness!!11!!!.   I state what i feel and see and form my sentances on my own personal feelings as a result.   If you dont like something it does nto mean I have to.   I think the last actual discussion I had over the content here was the crappy texturing jobs they did on some items like the diner.  that seems like a valid criticism to me and i made it.... however you only read what you want to read and skip over anything that might not work to your means which is. "I need to troll ummax even if they agree with what i say".   I'm sorry I dont agree with you or others all the time.  However most of what is here is personal opinion with very little actual fact mixed in and most of what I saw is rather neutral to be honest.  I"m sorry if you dont see it that way, but it is.  

Blanket post commentary for those who say "i care".  If i cared all those gramatical erros and half corrected words would be gone, but my cat is sitting on my arms and I"m to lazy to correct my errors.  So read it in its present form half corrected sentances and all.
