Counting 10 professions this gives.. an incredible 37.800 different mobs...

It is a stupid question.  Has there ever been a MMORPG (or any game for that matter) in history that has only had 1 type of mob/enemy ?   The answer is no.  So common sense should lead you to believe that Darkfall will obviously have more than 1 mob type.

Plus if you looked at any screenshots on the main site there are many many screenshots of players fighting mobs that are clearly not goblin scouts.

I think you're totally missing the irony in this thread, Squitty.

I really wasn't trying to use irony.  This was a very serious post that was trying to explore the 'completness' of the game.  There were dozens of posters in that thread, yet all of them commented on the combat with a single mob (goblin scout).... 23 times.  Not a single mention of fighting anything else.

Are the beta testers being limited to a very small area?
Is the gameworld filled with very few different types of mobs.. so that no matter where you go, you are likely to run into the same few mobs?
Were the beta testers just starting?  Where were the comments from the longer-term beta testers?

The beta leak mentioned skeletons. Unless these are just dead Goblin scouts?

I think I may have seen a Goblin Shaman mentioned in a leak. So not only scouts.

I remember when me and my friends first started playing Asheron's Call when it first came out, the only monsters you ever saw near most of the starting area were Drudges.  Literally almost every cave you went into or any field you walked through had drudges with those little wooden boards with the nail through it.  Then as people started growing their adventuring legs, you started to see the banderlings, mosswarts, reed sharks, and other stuff.   This could be a similar situaiton.   If people are getting wiped frequently, they may not be getting that far out to see some of the other monsters.  Only the beta players really know.

Forgive me, but why do you need NPC mobs this is a PVP game not PVE and there will be other players to kill surely that's enough for now until you get a few toys and brave enough to hunt futher from your home city...Lol

Thank god, those would be the worse mobs ever.  Things that ran around bitching about how MMO's suck, and that just because someone may like a game they don't its the end of the world.

Actually, now that I think about it, it would bring some comedy into the game, it may be a good thing if MMORPG.com trolls were added

Recently the enabled common fauna in the beta servers. This was shown someplace here in mmorpg.com

      They said earlier this week that they had a patch that activated several mobs, but it makes you wonder what exactly was active during the testing the past couple of years........
