Mark my words people. The 22 will come. Tasos will probably make some kind of grandiose announcement saying the Trial has launched and they are letting in people daily. The NDA will still be up. And you'll hear nothing from nobody. Where the hell are the noobcomic peeks? These just somehow stalled out like my grandma. Weren't there supposed to be like 20 parts? This project is in some serious trouble. It's beyond obvious at this point. Stick a fork in this one.. it's done |

That might happen. I dont understand why Aventurine even bother with this 22th anymore? Why not skip it, and focus on next months release instead? |

That way, before anyway has to pre-order they can see that the game is finished and up to standards (or vice versa). Whether Aventurine do that or not remains to be seen. It's entirely possible the OP is right, with the 22nd passing with nothing but a news update (it'd fit Aventurine's pattern thus far). |

I mean they would skip pre orders and everything. Just do beta, stress test and everything until next launchdate. The trolls dont seems to like the one month "open beta". |

There would again be a topic on this forum where someone thanks aventurine for not releasing another AoC (completely forgetting that the game is supposed to be finished for months already) or for waiting for the hype to pass or something else equally rediculous. We will see eventually, this can't be streched for longer than half a year. My advise to everyone is to just wait and do not pay for anything in advance. |

Trouble or not we still dont know for sure wait and see beta is just extra cookie, im planning on waiting for some player reviews and maybe some gamesites or mag reviews before i jump in. That is if we dont have chance to TRY before buy, if i can first try then there is np, if not ill wait, no pre-order for me even tho im a big fan of Darkfall as a game, pre-orders have make me sceptic. |

I dont say i know devs and tasos verywell but over all the years that i follow this game and read up forums dev talks and all other info i have a good perspective of whats going on and i must say in last few weeks im not so happy how they handle things and how they reply or planned things my discision to wait a bit and become a bit sceptic is a carefull analyse of what all happen in last few months and all the time prior to these last few months. Im still planning on playing Darkfall and have still fate in the game but i just dont pre-order, if i cant play when game go retail no harm done. It have no lvls not realy gear depended specially first few months this game you can easely jump in few months later and can compete with vets then most mmo's so ill wait and see:) |

They knew in December when they announced the Jan. 22nd date the amount of people they had. Yet, all Tasos did is blow smoke. In early December was the time for this update we got in Jan... not 1 week before the RELEASE date. Who does that? Delays the game a week before it launches? Yes, delays are the standard for MMOs... delays 1 week before the RELEASE? NOT.. the standard!
Also... They were making an MMO... right? Why wouldn't you build it with the idea of being able to handle 200k... is that such an ungodly high number? There were many on these forums and on the official forums throwing around the 1 million+ number back about 6 months ago. 200k shouldn't have been such a lofty goal for them to reach... they were making an MMO after all. |

NO the reasonf or the delay is because they didnt get the high end testing done they new before december that ahd alot of beta invites still doesnt mean they have the resources to support everyone. the beta apps surprised them right away. but wtf can youd o about it they was trying not to do pre orders there werent going to. but since they wasnt ready to release it they decided to be smart about the release >.> they game owuld released if it was tested as much as they wanted too but they just didnt get it all done. dont know why you cant understand this they delayed a week before launch who gives a flying fuck did you pay money? NO how is 200k the number? allt hat was said is well over 200k bet aapps and we cant support them all in the trial starting on the 22nd just not enough resources at this point in time |

I disagree that you will hear nothing from nobody. I'm quite sure some time soon after the 22nd you will hear you can now preorder for a chance to get access to limited open beta and a head start for the 25th release and an exclusive dragon mount. Oh and no, its you who have serious issues for questioning this project, you trolly hater you. |

I doubt they'll announce anything on the 22nd. It will be silence as usual from Tasos and his minions. And after a week or two goes by he'll respond with the usual tone of arrogance that beta invites went out and its going great. More will be sent out at a later date so keep checking in. Oh and wink wink pre-orders will get invites first. At this point I will be surprised if a beta leak actually happens. Tasos has managed to keep the game under a tarp by only letting family and friends in. I see no evidence that will change. If he wont let any reputable website or magazine review it why would he let rabid fanbois a peek without first paying. |

eh..DF has always had some serious issues, its pretty much PAR for the course. Right now, only thing I'm really focused on is Jan 22nd (will the NDA still stand?) and then the Feb release. Once its all out in the open we'll know soon enough what sort of product has been delivered. Heck, I might even toss them 50 bucks, what the hell, its only money.

Just for the sake of argument though... some of us don't take everything he says at face value.
How much of what he said in the Jan. 15th update was also true when:
That is the point. He had plenty of opportunities to come clean BEFORE the 15th. So why wait so long to announce the delay? Even you made a post saying if they were going to delay they would have done it already... hmm... wonder why?
The point with the 200k number is that they already had that number back in early Dec. So, why was the announcement made for Release on Jan. 22nd when they already knew they wouldn't be able to support them?
It all speaks to the character of Tasos. Normally it wouldn't be as big of deal because the PR mouth-piece of the company has nothing to do with actually making the game. That is not the case with DarkFall. Tasos is also a Dev. He is making the game. This is the same person we get to "work" with after the game is finally Released. This is the same person we get to hear that patches to fix content are coming "SOON". That is the problem.
I like the vast majority of the DarkFall Dev. Team... I just can't stand Tasos. If they got rid of him and let Claus run the show... I think they'd be much better for it.

You guys will be largely upset on release i can tell you now or if your easily please you will be largely upset couple of months down the line instead is all im saying. Theses indi groups get a nice living off the private funding they get for the duration of the development and thats what there after and in this case goverment funding too which can be writen straight off. Long term plans? none basicly.
Wait for a proper review after release by a legit publication, trust me.
