As above, what will you use to control your ship in space?

 I'll be using a Gamepad I got for free with a Nvidia 5500 I bought some years ago, still works a treat!

I'll be using my mouse to play EVE. This game will be fairly low key, there are a couple of more innovative games along a similar line that I believe will blow it out of the water.

Considering they've missed the Q4 2008 release date and that 10Tacle went insolvent and that they are developing Necron 2 alongside this title I wouldn't hold my breath. Besides there's as little info out there on this game as there is about DF!

Last I heard the outlook for this title was grim. I thought Reakktor media went under or something like that.

I'll be using my trusty old Saitek ST 330 Rumble Stick, it's old but it's built like a tank. 

I suspect trying to play this with mouse and keyboard would be auto lose in pvp.

Voted other, I have a joystick but not sure if I will prefer using that over a mouse and keyboard so I will wait and see which one I use primarily.

Will try both joystick and keyboard/mouse, then use what works better.

Based on the last Herrman Peterscheck video interview, I suspect that ship control will be a lot like Freelancer, which would make mouse/keyboard the best option. But I'll really need to play JGE before I know for sure.

Using mouse in flying games has always been failworthy.

I agree, since everyone purchasing must have a mouse and keyboard I should imagine the flight controls are designed to suit that best. Freelancer was the first space sim I played with a mouse, I hated it at first (used to play Elite on the Atari ST with a joystick) but quickly got used to it. In the end the controls with mouse were easily the best way to play as it was designed that way.

But since I have my old controller I'll give both a whirl, if I keep getting owned by other newbies playing with my controller.

Same as, I'll be playing with my joystick I hope, but a Freelancer control system would rock and probably be more advantageous for PvP.

That's not so. I just got an email from the Reakktor (devs) and they are working on the game and it is coming along nicely. They expect to put up a new website soon and the rep that wrote me said I would love what I see next. I have a lot of promise for this game.

I need to get another Joystick since my dog got a hold of the thing about a year ago But mouse/keyboard play is doable as well.

I am going to try this also. If I don't like it, I'll probably go mounse and keyboard. My old Saitek powered joystick has been in the bottom of my wardrobe for years gathering dust. Can't be bothered finding all the ired and adapter...wires all over the room like the old days turns me off.

I think ill try mouse first, see how i go with that, if im doing fine ill stick with it, if i feel a joystick could improve things ill plug in the x52.

 Will have to try and decide, if its designed similar to freelancer, seems mouse is the way to go.

Dunno how the physics model will be, but is a left hand on joystick for analogue flying/strafing and right on mouse for facing and crosshair pointing a crazy idea?

I guess i will use my 360 pad, although i might be tempted to set up the giant Steel Battalion monster controller. It might not be ideal, but having a shitload of buttons, switches and toggles should raise the fun level to new heights 

I just hope the inofficial drivers work with vista and i can find my adapter cable.

For some reason I find the picture of that steel battalion thing very disturbing.
