Im happy you can buy a rotten hamburger, throw it away and not want a refund. Most people aren't so careless with their money. 50$ is not a lot for me either, but when I spend it on something that claims to be one thing, but turns out to be other thing, then I will demand a refund. Thats why most people who call themselves sceptics are simply afraid to not receive what is promised for their 50$. Thats why they come here and write their complains, thoughts, comments, expectations here. And thats normal, thats how it is supposed to be. Not many people are willing to risk 50$ buying something that is very suspicious.

Whats a nother 50$? Its 50$ less then what I could of had.

LOL. Please note that downtoearth was carefull enough not to be very specific. DF may come out, D&L did after all. But, how will it come out? Is it gonna be a decent game? Or is it gonna be a steaming pile of turd D&L turned out to be?  Thats a different question.

Further more, some people do enjoy a nice bowl of steaming pile of turd. So no matter how many times it is delayed and no matter how bad the game is, you can bet a million $ that there exist at least one person that will like this game. I can almost guarantee you (99.99% guarantee) that Ztyx will like this game, no matter how bad or good it will be. He is such a passionat fella :)

Now before I get flamed for being a troll:
- I am very interested in DF. I hope it succeeds and I can play a nice open PvP game with beautiful graphics
- Aventurine/Tasos are very unprofessional and the whole business smells like D&L all over again

That being said, I consider myself a true sceptic - I like the idea behind the game, but I dont like the way it is being handled. I wont pre-order, I wont buy the game unless I personaly try it and like it.

On the 22nd, when thousands of people play it.  Its assumed the NDA will be lifted and all sorts of videos and reviews will come out.

show me something that gives me a reason to want to give you money. I'd love for this game to be everything it is supposed to be, and more, and I'd love to pay Aventurine to play the game they promised. But I need to see it, in some definitive form first.

I'm not asking for the secret password to the Honeycomb Hideout, and I'm not asking for beta access. Just a *real* gameplay video, taken and hosted by a *reputable* North American or English-speaking European Video Game Media Source.

 

Trial will be up before pre-orders are avaible. Just wait and see if the NDA is still up. The red flags you mention are only red flags when they start taking people's money directly. Most pre-orders don't go to the company until the game is 100% bought, and the trial will probably have either more leaks or not be bound by NDA the entire time.

Good post Paragus. It's tough to come here and read up on information about the game due to all the strife going on. Unfortunately, I usually have to stick DF's official site for good threads about the game which is pretty much where I've always gone for good sandbox topics along with EVE Online forums

This is a really poor attitude. I am also a working adult, and I would very much resent it if my 50 bucks got flushed down the toilet. Perhaps it is because I grew up poor, because while I'm by no means greedy, I definately know the value of a buck.

I agree with the OP quite frankly I don't think the majority of the people posting here even legitimately care about the game even on the official boards, all this is is just a giant dick waving competition and Darkfall is simply at the centre of it, it happened with AoC and it happened with WAR in the end someones going to find a new scapegoat to grab peoples' dicks over and it will start all over again and the people genuinely interested in playing Darkfall will play it.

I was going to say that you are all acting like a bunch of childish morons, but quite frankly I think that would be unfair to the children as they wouldn't have the developed brains to act at this level of retarded.

Oh and fyi the OP is right on the value of his currency as well, in case you didn't know the American dollar is getting flushed completely down the toilet now because of the bailouts so you might as well use that money for burning and stock up on cans of beans while you can.

Oh you are kidding right ?  The best info we have seen on this game in the past few weeks is :

• A fan made server arch diagram. Unconfirmed
• A very limited beta leak which may / may not have come from the game as it was written and was critical of poor combat.
• And every else has been tasos little words with big implications coming out  of his mouth. Big world, mount and blade combat... yah yah yada yada. (Just go read the feature list)
• Some discussion on what tasos "best friend" thinks on there web site hosted by tasos. Such bravery putting DF in a critical areana eh ? /sarcasm

Please don't even try and pretend that somehow the annoyance  on here by  the devs idiocy is somehow stopping you from accessing loads of information on this game. Fact it this bloody situation has been cause by the developers lack of meaningful showcasing of there product. All thats happening now is people are royally pissed. Especially about preorders, the launch delay and the pathetic reasons... and thats it thee nothing else to say about this game thats no ALREADY been speculated about. Oh and on a less scathing note... want to talk about sandox MMO and generic concepts such as problems with todays MMOs ? Go to the GENERAL forums they are much beyyer because are not atagonised there by communcaition poor developers of a certain game ;).
