Lack of updates on the game,

The pathetically religious fanbase (THIS GAME WILL BE THE BEST EVARRR CUZ TASOS SAID!!!),

The bullshit being fed to us CONSTANTLY (We definately won't miss a release date!!!, EVERYONE will try the game for free b4 paying!!!, The game is 100% ready to release in early december '08)

The Arrogant Development team (Our game is teh bomb! 100% bug free lawl!),

The pathetic Excuses that the fans (who have never played the game, mind you) constantly pull out of their asses for the game.

Darkfall, you lost me. I was looking forward to playing this game in all of its promises, but i'm fed up with everything that I listed above (and those are only off the top of my head...).

The only reason I anticipated this game was because of the "Feature List" on their website which hasn't been updated since 2003. I hate pretty much EVERYTHING else about this game.

I'll still be checking these forums because they're good for the hearty lulz (these are good forums to come to if you want an easy ab workout), but there isn't a chance in hell that Aventurine will be able to suck me back into this nonsense.

find a hobby, don't sit around counting the day, hours, minutes until a game comes out.  Don't let your life revolve around a game.  Find some hobbies or get a girlfriend or something and then when the game comes out, if it ever does give it a try if not oh well.

I agree that the Trolls are over the top a lot of the time, but to say that the Fanboys aren't cult-like is very naive.

These kind of threads came up for every single game tha twas released so far and will keep coming up for every game soon to be released. They are hilarious and pointless at the same time.

Hilarious in a way it's funny to see a person getting a cake on his face, fun to watch but not to receive.

Pointless because no matter what you say, if the game ends up to be a good one, no matter how much you whine now, you'll be playing it when it actually releases.

You'll give it a shot, anyway. Stop throwing up such a tantrum about the postponing, everyone knows that you're just pissed that you can't play the game just yet.

The game hasn't come out yet.  I think every game deserves a fair chance, and I greatly admire what Aventurine set out to do and how far they have come in the last 8 years.  It is not an easy undertaking especially with the community in which they are trying to serve. 

If it comes out and is not fun or they are shady through release then I will be the first to criticize them.  If it is awesome then I will have a new game to play.  Unlike most people around here I don't pass judgment until there is a game to judge.

It's not that i'm pissed about them postponing (even though i'm a bit disappointed, but I have no problem waiting), it's about the message that they're giving everyone BY postponing the game.

When they say that the game is 100% feature complete and ready to release in early december, and that when they set the release date they won't miss it, and then they decide to (a week before the release) push back the release, it tells me that they can't live up to their promises.

...And if they can't live up to their promises, what's to say that even half of the things on their feature list (which is the reason darkfall has so many followers) are even available in the game?

The sad thing is ppl like ProfRed try too hard to defend this "game" that is having a hard time trying to show us that it will exist. Us "trolls" for many years have told those fans that it wont release no matter what Tasos says. So far we have been right so they feel the need to bash us with lousy insults that couldnt even offend a 4 yr old.

Give it up fans, cuz the game you want you wont get. You will either get a bug ridden unfinished POS, or scammed. Either way it will end up with us "trolls" telling you that we told you so.

Are you aware that the problems at the moment are mostly about the server hardware, not the actual software? They are a small team, their funds are not infinite. About all of the bigger MMOs have had huge publishers backing them up.

The cause of the problem? The community has well over than quadrupled in the last few months.

Actually the people who see this "game" for the scam that it is have been aware of its false nature for many years now. We have sat by and watch the fans follow this game with their blind faith thinking it will release, and then right when they thought they "won" last year when that god awful trailer came out and said 2008 at the end of it...I even knew it wasnt possible...then they made more excuses....then Tasos says Jan 22nd, and I even knew THAT wasnt possible.

What you seem to misunderstand is that we do not want nor need another DnL/Mourning scam because MMORPG gamers have been through enough in the last few years that they are tired of crap like this happening. If you havent seen by now, most of them on this site alone are already stepping down from being DF fans knowing full well that they do not want to have yet another BS scam happen to them or their money. Or maybe they just listened to those (like myself) who know what DF really is...which isnt a game.

 Trust me most of us have had our eye open for some time now. Those of us that made simple observations like Aventurine would need to stress test their servers with live players instead of AI bots. were flamed and labled trolls. Well guess what? Aventurine now states strangely enough they need to delay to stress test their server with live players.

 Your the newbie here in the sense you just showed up to defend Darkfall this month. Not to get all high and mighty here but i have been following Darkfall fairly closely for 2 years here and haven't seen you once post before late Dec / early Jan. Granted I know i don't catch all threads but I'm pretty sure if you were a regular poster I'd have seen something from you. So please don't try and state you know how the fan base has behaved over the last  year. Hell i remember reading a post from a fan yesterday flaming a poster because he played FFX and even you chimed in that it was a good game.

  Those of us who have been here know the fans, if you showed up In early December and said you didn't believe Darkfall would launch on the 22nd any number of fans would have called you a troll and tore into you. No I'm not saying called it vaporware or said it sucks, just simply doubting the words of Taso was enough to get you labled a troll and flamed so please don't come in now when the fans are in a recession (so to say) because they were wrong about their blind faith in the 22nd launch of Darkfall and say the fans are all nice reasonable people because sorry I don't think you have enough experience with them to make that statement with any honesty.

 Some posters are indeed trolls and some fans are just as bad. In my book the fanbois and the troll are just 2 sides of the same coin.

  Turning a blind eye to doubts and possible problems and instead only posting postive things does not make a MMO good. The company producing the game actually has to do that. A troll saying a game is vaporware will not discourage anyone from actually buying a game once it produced if they are interested. Hell theres even a post in a thread here from nileq (sp?) saying its the trolls fault DF is so over hyped and getting too many customers. So try and actually look at things from a perspective other then the Blind defender of all soon to be released MMO's stance that you seem to claim.

You REALLY want to know why so many so called trolls ended up here slamming this game and being highly sceptical?

1. Tasos. No news there.

2. All the RELIGOUS fanbois TROLLING on the other game forums in how bad that game is and how Darkfall is going to be THE game that's gonna KILL theirs! They highjacked so many topics on other MMO forums calling out Darkfall to be the End to all current MMO's....Darkfall being the next coming of Jesus. YadaYada.

It was just inevitable till the people on the other MMO forums got fed up by it and came here.

 I don't advocate people calling a game crap without actually giving it a try. On the other hand i'm not blind enough to believe that if everyone stays silent or only posts positive things that somehow that will make a game Good. Really the developers are responsible for that.

  Perhaps i'm reading you wrong (hey its the internet!) if so i apologise but everyone has opinions good or bad. You seem to be stating only those with good opinions about the game are allowed, and that even if people have facts they should never post anything negative about a game, Oh like say "I don't believe Darkfall will be out on the 22nd because they haven't done any stress testing with live players." because it might hurt it. 

  Anyway end point players saying a game is crap (IMO) is not what stagnants the genre its the companies producing crappy games that do that. Weither because they had good intentions and simply got over their head, or because they were shady and out to make a buck doesn't make a difference really as well crap is crap either way. (Pardon my french)
