That will help abit but its still a band-aid over the giant wound of boredom. |

First off I love this game, but what Mythic is doing here doesn’t even begin to address the problem. WAR can't be everywhere if no one is participating in it. RVR right now is a long boring grind for your Tier gear, and Tier gear is really the only pay off because without that you are just playing a P2P FPS with swords. The largest game design flaw that Mythic has is WAR requires a very large number of people to be participating or it just doesn’t work....that almost Guarantees a short life unless they do what’s necessary to turn the game around. One thing that must happen is either the ability of higher level players to level down to play lower level PQ’s and RVR or enact a henchmen system for areas that have been around for a bit. They also need to make Tier 2-4 gear not so much of a grind to get…because right now it’s like pulling teeth with no drugs. But MJ is a stubborn guy he is convinced that everything is going to come together and magically WAR will be everywhere….not without some seriouse changes at this point I’m sad to say. |

Too late, too little. After trying out the Knight for about 6 weeks, I finally uninstalled the game. It isnt entirely bad, but too boring. I just could not see myself spending my daily time in this game. The levelling takes WAY too long for the dull content, especially PVE-wise. I am not necessarily into fast levelling, but I felt (subjectively at least, maybe also objectively) WAR PVE levelling took way longer than for instance LOTRO or EQ2 or similar titles. I only uninstall MMOs when I am 100% never to return, and for WAR I just did not see any real change which made this borefest interesting. They would have to turn this game upside down, and its the very fundament which is flawed. The only interesting thing is the RVR, and beyond level 25 you have seen it all, all keeps the same type and no variation besides the terrain background. PVE clearly was designed as afterthought, not to speak of the dull looking characters and the ever-same-ish looking gear. This MMO is for a niche audience of diehard RVR zergers. They will enjyo it, for sure, but for the majority of PVE seeking MMO gamers this will never be catching, no matter where there make minor changes like this.

Faster? Players have been going from 1-40 in 2-3 weeks since launch day. |

I suppose desperate times call for desperate measures. |

While I will definately take full advantage of the increase, I really didnt think it was necessary. Is leveing slower then in WoW or EQ2 for levels 20-33? Well yes it is but the problem here is that people are comparing their leveling curve incorrectly. Leveling 20-33 in WAR is like leveling 55-70 in WoW or EQ2. Its not a walk in the park to gain the levels but the effort put into it makes it worth the grind in the end. As far as lack of RvR, perhaps its the server you are playing on or how you are going about looking for a warband or group to do rvr with. I play on a couple different servers and the tier 3 on those servers always has warbands doing rvr. If there is no RvR where your at, hop on a bird and fly to a different zone or start your own warband and let people know your starting one. People will join up. You might only have a small force at first but in no time you will have a full warband if not more. Now when it comes to pve, instead of going to a PQ and expecting there to be a group there waiting for you to join them, perhaps you should be social and start a group. You would be surprised how quickly you can get a group when you let people know your starting a group for a PQ or a dungeon or to simply grind away some quests. If all else fails, then play an alt or go back to tier 1 or 2 content that you passed by to work on getting more tome unlocks. The common theme to these issues is that a lot of the people complaining want a solo player game, when this is not a solo players mmo. From the very start of WAR's development by Mythic, they stated that it was going to be an mmo designed with group pve and pvp in mind. A big part of most mmo's is being social. If you dont want to be social then dont play an mmo or find an mmo that caters to the soloist. Warp |

I just canceled my account and I don't think I'll be coming back until they improve pve or merge servers. Pve in this game is simply too dull; I'd put it just above shadowbane's pve :p The pvp is nice, but I don't like scenarios and rvr seems to just be trading keeps back and forth. This game has potential, but it is far too grindy in its current state. |

i finally cancelled today, 3 or 4 hours of trading keeps and Battle Objectives was enough, why grind the RR anyway. We take a zone while they take another, then switch. Once in a while will the two sides meet and then its just frustration with the LoS and balance issues. When I said i had "time", i meant virtual time, i got no RL "time" for you. |

We'll see. The new orvr changes to keeps and zone-locking mechanics will be quite crucial to the game. Open RvR has been fixed with 1.1.... quantity wise. Now we have to see the quality of open RvR boosted. First info about what they have in mind is due by the end of this month... hints dropped so far seem promising: "keep quests" and "keep upgrades" for guilds. We'll see. As always. As for PvE... there's been talk about a "Darkness Falls" massive ORVR dungeon and if they put those 4 missing capitals back in (no reason why they shouldn't), we'll see a massive increase in PvE content. We'll see. As always.

The most common of logics is often the most flawed. |

As others have said, too little too late. The XP curve was fine in beta until about 2 weeks before launch they had the bright idea to just slow it down for whatever bright idea they had, and then it just turned the entire experience into a droll grind. Now they're renegging on that idea, and it's no surprise, since the content is just so horrible as is. However, the XP changes do -nothing- to fix the issue that is PVP balance, which has been absolutely attrocious since launch. From the BW/Sorc having their mechanic changed shortly before launch to the magus (and engi) that were horribly underpowered since long before launch, it's just not even worth the time.
Here's to MMO's that decided it was in their best interests to not rush the game out the door. |

Hey lets just target the counter strike kids they will keep paying month after month for game play they can do for free on Xbox! Brilliant!

There really is years worth of good quality pen'n'paper scenarios, quests and campaign content written over the last 30 years that could almost be cut and pasted into any game. Yet as already mentioned, devs seem fixated on this failed 'counterstrike' model of endless pointless kill me kill you kill me kill you. As an End in itself PvP/RvR simply does not work when it is the Central Theme for a mmo. Contrast this with Eve for example, where combat is a Key Element but the theme is Empire Building and the PvP/RvR is just a Means to that End. |

The first type are the guys who want a War 60 on 60 madness back and forth give and take, the second type are the sociopaths that just want to gank any and everyone that are 30 levels lower than they are...the biggest problem with 90% of all PVP centric games are the latter player out numbers the former by about 5 to 1, so those who want a WAR and are not getting what they need usually just go play a RTS or a FPS that they don't have to shell out 15 bucks a month for, and the latter type of PvP player demand a constant stream of victims, if this isn't provided, or as in Mythics case you can't grief they go elsewhere to the Developer du-jour that promises what they want....end result dead PVP game.
