So, now they have been in the game for a month or so, which Hirelings have you found to be your favourite so far?

I have 2, first is Frenzy, the level 3 Warforged barbarian, he is a real zerger and really funny when he is off breaking the barrels, especially since on occasion, he finds them more interesting than the mobs.........lol

Second is Tobias, the level 2 (iirc) human cleric, really good healer and quite proficient with the sword too!

Which have you enjoyed playing with so far?

You must not leave until you free Arlos and have gathered your party safely in this hallway.

I've been trying them out more and more.  Some of them are incredible in terms of helping the party or just when you want to solo.  I hadn't noticed any difference with the names and performances and assumed they shared the same scripting other then their behaviors relating to the commands and orders you give them.

To date I like the Paladin and Clerics.  The Paladin was VERY impressive in terms of the Lay On Hands and heals it was constantly giving out.  The Cleric was equally impressive.  They both seem to be more functional then summoned pets (summoned pets are junk due to Mob's stats being over inflated; pets are regularily one shotted.) besides the Sorcerer or Wizard hirelings.

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed it but some of them appear to be well equiped with mana potions, but they don't share!

If I'm not mistaken I believe the Cleric hireling has Divine Vitality.

So far, this is a great addition even though Turbine has admitted there's still a lot of work and improvements needed with them.  They've come out and warned the player base that there's a few bugs, but they are too functional to not be made available.  I am amazed to think where this game is today and the direction it's heading when comparing it to the crappy piss poor state it was when it launched.  Kate Paiz has proven to do an excellent job with the development staff that continues to make tremendous improvements to the game and she should have been in charge much sooner.

It might be a coincidence but since this addition I've noticed our guild has more people online then it did prior to mod 8.  Any given evening there's from 15-20 people logged on and last weekend it was very close to 30!

Does the population feel as if it's increasing to anyone else too?

There is definitely an increase on the European servers with 2/3 instances of the marketplace being available, even during the week. Its absolutely fantastic to see more and more people playing!!!!!
