This kind of response is why you should avoid Darkfall. You'll be playing with people like this who completely ignore what you said and assume just because you said you played WoW that you won't be cut out for their game.

1 hit = 1 person visiting the game's page on this site, one UNIQUE visitor so the same person isn't counted more than once per 24 hours. Yes the game isn't out yet.

One would think that the community of a niche' game would try to gain as many members as possible, but I guess Darkfall is different in every aspect

The poster asked two questions:

1) What is a hit? 

2) How is Darkfall getting more hits than other games if it isn't released yet?

Where the hell does it say that you get to dictate who gets to ask questions on this forum? You have a disgusting attitude and, thanks to you, I have even less motivation to play the game if it ever materialises. It will be people with the same attitude as yours that will be the downfall of Darkfall. Thanks but no thanks. I'll play a game with people who have some common sense existing upstairs.

You have to stomach things like DarkFall is more popular then other popular MMO's. It doubles their value in popularity .

Firstly, I really couldn't care whether or not you want to play with me. We've already established that I wouldn't want to play with you so you're wasting your breath. 

Secondly, your lack of ability to understand the first post is getting rediculous. Did you miss the part where the OP was under the misunderstanding that a hit is a signup to the game? If I thought that that was the definition of the game I too would be extremely confused as to why Darkfall was getting so many signups. 

And in conclusion, Darkfall is not more popular than other popular MMOs. It happens with every MMO near release that hit rates increase. Call my when Darkfall sells 5.5 million copies like Guild Wars or has 11.5 million subs like WoW, OK? It is a niche' game and it does not have mass market appeal (and will have even less appeal with the rate the community is going). Each response of yours gets even more laughable and you're just digging yourself into an even deeper hole of what looks to be idiocy. Don't even bother replying as all you'll gain from it is a laugh from my side and a few other people.

Granted my assumption is correct, and you are indeed referring to the "Darkfall community, as represented thus far here on MMORPG.com," it sounds like a very narrow group of people to base your conclusions on.

You can count all the people who spend most of their day writing hate posts about Darkfall, or the people who fanatically preach Tasos' words as if he's some kind of MMO prophet without having to use all the fingers on your hands. Those people are a really small part of the community, and not an accurate depiction of the average person that will be playing Darkfall(i.e.: the people you will run into casually in-game).

Normally I wouldn't derail a thread, but this one jumped the tracks thanks to a DF fan pretty much in the 2nd or 3rd post.

But I wanted to point out that as far as DF communities go, this one is down right friendly compared to the hostility one faces over on the official Darkfall forums. (not called ForumFall for nothing).

I'd say the Fanbois here are pretty representative of a large portion of the Darkfall community actually, and I expect DF to gain a much greater percentage of the type of person I would consider to be an asshat than most other games. (and yes, I realize every game has its asshats)

Just to give mention to the OP, I didn't really know what the "hits" represented, so I was glad some folks took the time to explain it in response.

But hey, all DF threads up as flamefests, which is why they are so entertaining.... they're sort of like a bridge that draws trolls of both sides to crawl around under.
