Snooze. Don't people ever get tired of predicting the imminent demise of this game and being completely wrong? If ihad a dollar for every time some pundit predicted AoC would close before the end of last year I'd have more money than AoC made, which was substantial. So true :) Iam willing to bet AoC wont be closed for another 5 years at least. People are really assuming to much and when it comes to Funcom well Anarchy Online was by far worse release and it went so far that it was even subscription free after release as they said we wont charge until we fix it. People were predicting closure of AO well 8 years passed and 4 expansions were made.
As prediction I would say that after a year once expansion hits out they dont have subscription numbers they planed they will probably cut down AoC development resources in year 2010. The game will still be patched and there will be more expansions but it will take more time. Futilez Mature gaming guild |

But you cannot compare bad MMO launches 5-6 years ago with today's launches. The MMO market was completely different back then. There was far less competition, then there is now. 5-6 years ago you could launch a pile of buggy shit and if you patched well... people accepted it and kept playing. Today people don't accept a pile of buggy shit anymore. And I think 2007 and 2008 clearly have shown that. Cheers |

No 2007 and 2008 showed us that people really don't want the same damn thing over and over again. I know there are lots of you ignorant AoC fanbois that think AoC is soooo different from WoW, but the truth is, it really really isn't. Pretty graphics and 20% different combat system does not impress me especially not when the sacrifices are so massive. I technically its not even an mmo. It's like paying a monthly fee to play CoD4. But I mean if you like Funcom up your backside who am I to try and stop you. |

The server mergers are needed. its hard to find groups for some of the party quests. War needs to merge a few more also. Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, and WAR. |

Yes times are different 6 years ago if MMO had 200.000 subscribers was uber win ... today people consider MMO a failure if does not have at least 500K-1m subscribers. LOTRO had really nice release in 2007 without any major bugs etc, personally i think the game made good success and they have what 150K-250K subscriber. So you find AoC boring well dont play it.
