Maybe these Chinese guys will be the best hand/eye coord guys out of all of China and actually get paid like $2.20 a day instead of $1.18 a day like all the WoW farmers. They will quickly become some of the most feared random pkers in the Darkfall world. All your loot will be pawned quickly and your gold will be sold on a website such as this one within moments after your death to a master Chinese RPK'er. LOLz. Would be fun as hell to try and battle these punks for once though and get some "free gold" off them with no credit card needed! WooT! That would "pwn" hard, heh.
I think is much more likely to happen.
Everyone thinks they are the best with their PvP skills... heh reaality is usually a bit different.
We must remember that the majority of these gold farmers do this for a living 12-16 hours per day. Eventually they get pretty good at it. It is after all... their job. If they fail on a consistent basis... they get fired. Meaning they make no money to feed their family. That means they have a much higher incentive to NOT lose than the average gamer does.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out... but I think these gold farmers will be much tougher targets than most are giving them credit. |

I don't think so. Just have a look at what happened in Lineage 2 and is still happening. Remember these guys can and will play 24/7, are highly skilled and very coordinated. They will gank and farm your ass and sell it for their RMT profit pot.
That's why, especially now I see these sites popping up already, getting absolutely no desire to play this game at all (if it's going to release that is). Because if it's these guys from Lineage 2 that are coming over to Darkfall.... well.... good luck!
That's why they should just IP ban the crap out of the Asian continent (especially china) and try to tackle most public proxy servers and ban them too.... so you give them a hard time as possible to discourage them. Cheers |

Well, Who will buy gold from them? Remember it's full loot, lets say you buy 10.000 gold form them so you can build your boat. The next day, ganksquad 101 (the same company that you bought the gold from) gank your ass and steal your boat. Are you going to buy another 10.000 gold for real life money?

Back in the days I tried and played Lineage 2 it was so bad, that goldfarmers formed their own very large guilds, disguised as regular players. They were camping all the big dungeons and world bosses 24/7 farming them around the clock! No one could get near them as they would gank your ass... and guilds that tried to gank them ended up on their KoS list and ended up being griefed 24/7 by their special created gank squads making sure you won't try it again. That is Lineage 2 for you. We can pray and seriously hope these guys won't come over to Darkfall or you're screwed. Cheers |

Given the FFA PvP style of the game, farmers in mass will be a threat but it is unlikely that they will be roaming the countryside mauling players and looting them for their gold. The key to success in gold farming is the consistent production/harvesting of gold. Time is money and the farmers need to see a big return on their time investment. There are just too many things in PvP that waste time and don't work well for gold farmers; spending time locating players to kill, travel times back to the Farmer PvP group after being killed, loss of items when killed and the cost to replace them, etc. It is amusing that Gold farmers are gearing up for Darkfall already but even the business model is different due to item loot. Your purchase isn't guaranteed or protected, Imagine buying 100 gold to get your Uber crafted armor and then while showing off your new gear you get killed and someone loots it. How many people will risk large amounts of real money to be moving targets with their farm gold bought gear ? I guess we will see how it all shakes out, only 13 days to go.... |

Whenever there is an MMORPG there will be people who will buy this gold. They will just have to deal with it just like all the other companies. Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL! |

I can see it now, guilds posting bounties on the heads of all goldspammers and sellers. Great way to make some cash hehe

Cheers I remember this, and I also remember grouping with some farmers in one of the lower level towers on a regular basis when the game first came out. I also remember whenever players put together any campaign to drive them off, no matter what size force was gathered, they pulled together a bigger one. Evenutally people learned to leave them alone. Of course, full looting changes the mechanics considerably, as hordes of naked players (or wearing crap gear) can afford to assault farmers for their gear and risk little. Should be very interesting to say the least. Can't see them doing pvp against the average player though, would be bad for business and they realize this.

The title of your thread is both misleading and inflammatory. It implies that the vendors have an arrangement with Aventurine, but you show no evidence of any such arrangement. It would be one thing to say that gold farmers are arleady prefpared for Darkfall's release, but quite another to say that Darkfall (Aventurine) has vendors set up. ~Ripper |

Yeah, actually I think Crafters probably will be the biggest market for gold-sellers. The Crafters can justify it as an investment in more gold that they will make later when they have higher skills and can then charge high prices for their new products.
People pay real life money for all sorts of crazy stuff that has very little worth and doesn't last very long. For those that use these kind of services... not sure what their incentive is... but they are obviously successful. |

You know what's so funny about this? Even if goldfarmers find a way to collect gold, wich they won't, no one will be stupid enough to buy it from them since they will have lost 100$ in DF gold when they get killed by some random player. Those chinese goldfarmers IP's probably get banned anyway.

I cannot envisage them being unable to find a way around full loot and ffa, they will be farming in DF like every mmorpg. Maybe even farming me, bring it on say! If they don't spam I don't care, but they probably will. |

I dislike the spamming way worse than the actual farming.
I find it funny that pretty much every single MMO pre-Release you can be guaranteed you will find those who think THIS is the game where gold-sellers and farmers won't be a problem.
They are always wrong.
There will be gold-sellers and farmers in DarkFall. How bad will it be? Depends on the profitabilty. If it's profitable... there will be tons. Hopefully, it won't be very profitable. |

You think the Chinese government is going to hand over their citizens to Greece over a two-bit game? Where do you think alot of that goldfarming/selling money goes? There's a reason Blizzard only goes after domestic cheaters in lawsuits and just bans everyone else. This is also the main reason Aventurine's so-called "scary" NDA is a bunch of grade A bullshit.
